Terrible food! We read about Made’s Warung and thought we would try to support a local business during these hard times, and just wanted a simple meal. My husband ordered Nasi Goreng, me, a Mie Goreng. We checked what it came with, the Nasi was...with chicken, but when it arrived it was literally rice and chicken, no vegetables at all, absolutely nothing else, which was a surprise as everywhere else he’s ever had it, there’s always some kind of green in there! But ok.. for my food I asked and they said chicken and prawns and vegetables. I asked for no prawns as I am allergic, and eat no seafood at all. I made it very clear and thought this was understood, it always has been before. To make this clear, we’ve lived in Indonesia for 5 years, I always check for seafood in Mie Goreng just in case. I was assured no prawns would be put in my meal. They lied. I got my meal and started eating, it was cold (apparently mine was cooked first and sat waiting while they cooked my husband’s meal) and it was greasy. Then after a few mouthfuls, I found my first prawn..then I checked the rest of the meal and found my second prawn! After that, there was no way I was eating anything, to their credit they asked if I wanted it again but if I was assured no prawns would be in your meal, I would be stupid to try again, so I said no, I didn’t want to wait another half hour for food (the first lot took long enough, even in COVID times). Then we came to pay our bill..they took off the price of my meal, but left on the egg I also couldn’t eat, because it was now tainted by the prawns, so after we pointed out we wouldn’t pay for that either, we got the correct bill. Because it ended up being under 100k, (because it was only 1 meal instead of 2) they wanted us to pay 5% for using a local debit card, saying that’s the bank charge - it’s not, that’s another lie. Eventually we could pay without the bank charge, but it’s such a shame, we were looking forward to eating at this place because it’s legendary really, and we are trying to help support the locals in this time, but this was just a bad experience, I wouldn’t recommend it at all. To top it all off, the waitress didn’t even apologise for serving me food I’m allergic to - that’s just bad!More

Warung Made Seminyak open again for regular biz since July 2020, due to pandemic situation. They are still very quiet , only couple of tables were occupied, half half Indonesians and foreigners. Good thing is that the taste of meals are still consistent. I chose...their signature Nasi Goreng Made and Nasi Campur Made, plus to complete the famous very thin banana pancake with honey. Beware of their sambal matah in the nasi goreng and most of their Indonesian dishes, super hot. Oya, the kerupuk is also different and good to order while waiting for your main menu. The street bar and ice cream shop are open already too. Most of the shops in the complex are still closedMore

The staff couldn't do enough to make our visit more enjoyable. The food was divine, and we ended up going there for most of our meals. If you don't go for any other reason, go to see the Balinese dancers. Highly recommend a visit.

we called in here on our first night in Seminyak, the food we ordered was good, the beers were slow and expensive, beer in Seminyak costs more than Australia. They do have a nice setting and a stage where there are Balinese dancers

Visited here on 2 occasions during our trip to Bali (I've never revisited a restaurant on holiday before but it was so good we had to go back). The food is reasonably priced and so tasty! The venue is lovely, with a great atmosphere and...the Balinese dancing is a must see. Special thanks have to go to Sudi for being so lovely and hospitable during our visit. She made great recommendations for local dishes and talked to us at great length about the Bali culture (THANK YOU SUDI). 10/10 - just wish I could take the peanut satay sauce home.More

On our most recent visit to Bali a Balinese friend took us to have a quick lunch at this restaurant - his name is Made:-) We enjoyed a very pleasant satay (we had various stays) lunch with the Balinese satay being the best. Service was...ok if a bit of a challenge some times to get the attention of wait staff. It was not expensive. The layout of the restaurant is like a traditional Balinese compound with pagodas. In the same compound fronting Legian (street) was an ice cream shop which was doing a roaring trade for dessert.More

Yes they do. They have a range of performances throughout the week and I remember seeing it scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings, 19:30-21:00 (it was on the menu).
