This is in a terrific location roughly half way along Hout Bay Beach....it has a nautical feel to it with plenty of seating option both in and out of the sun. The views towards the beach, Chapman's peak and the Sentinel are terrific and if your eye sight is good you can just make out the lighthouse at Kommetjie. The... More

When in Hout Bay this place is worth having lunch as it is directly at the beach and this is great. I think it is a very popular and hot spot on the weekend. The food I had, fish, was cooked ordinarily- not bad but also nothing spectacular. Wine selection mostly from the Spier estate.

I came 2 times to this wonderful restaurant directly at the beach of Hout Bay. If it is not too windy, you can sit outside and enjoy the sea. It has a huge variety of food and delicious wines. It is a perfect spot fot having a romantic dinner. I had the best "Fish and Chips" EVER there!

Although the burgers we ordered were okay, the service was below average. We had to re-oder twice because they were out of most of their products. Very windy!

We Uber-ed 30 minutes over from Cape Town (having made a reservation based on reviews here and recommendations from friends) only to arrive and be told when we sat down that they were OUT of most of their top dishes. No tuna. No mussels. No calamari. No wasabi (I get restaurants run out of the freshest seafood....but no excuse for... More

Sitting at Dunes for 30 minutes. Some of our table are onto their second day drink and others still waiting for their first. Cocktail bartender says he can't help it as we are not ordering the same drink. What a pity for such a beautiful setting.

We love Dunes, but today we had the worst food imaginable. The peri-peri sauce tasted like stale canned tomatoes mixed with dish water. I would bet my lucky penny there wasn't any peri peri in sight. When I asked for Tabasco sauce I was presented with a huge bottle of Tabasco that clearly didn't resemble Tabasco sauce at all, enter...... More

Been coming to Dunes for years but won't be back again after our last visit. The view is still great and the service is good, but the food was disgusting. The peri peri sauce tasted like canned tomato purée that was just dumped over my under-cooked chicken. Prawns weren't cleaned and were presented with a "garlic" sauce that tasted like... More

We went to Dunes a few times with our son and he loves it. Great playground and lots of other kids for him to play with. You will sit very close to keep an eye on your youngster while you can enjoy the good food. Service is good. We recommend the pulled pork burger, curry and steak! Setting is great,... More
