We recently visited MM's via the topless red hop on/off bus - what great value & the deck was such a nice surprise: a superb unimpeded view of the entire bay - we'll be back! Louis-THE-lawyer

Wow, wow, wow. This is real food at real prices. Delicious calamari and hake and the size of the portions are really good. The ingredients are fresh and value for money is obvious. Waiting time was minimal given the number of people being served. This is definitely a place to eat when in Hout Bay.

Great food from what is basically a couple of portacabins! Good range of food available calamari particularly good and eaten from upstairs with a view across the harbour and bay makes it special.

We visited Muriel's Munchies over the Easter weekend. It was our second visit, and there was a reason we came back - their delicious burgers. They were tasty, big and great value for money! Also best to sit upstairs as you will have a great view of the Hout Bay harbour

We thankfully avoided the tourist trap of Mariners, as we found it extremely expensive and tightly packed with smokers, and found Muriel's offered exactly what we felt like eating to "fill the gap". Although not a madly welcoming building, the rooftop view more than made up for that. It comes with a fabulous vantage point of the bay, the boats... More

This great little café was situated right next to the harbour overlooking the boats and the seals, it was so much nicer and relaxed eating here rather than the tourist traps like Mariners Wharf which we walked out of (so noisy with everyone squashed together on the outside deck blowing smoke inn your face!). Muriel's Munchies has a great top... More

A cozy place to refresh yourself after a walk around the Harbour area. Can sit upstairs for a view or downstairs. Nothing fancy and we just felt at home. Not a fancy restaurent just a place to chill and relax. No hurry to get us out after our meal was over. I like that. Will definitely be back there to... More

Unassuming cafe on the quayside ..their fish & chips are a benchmark for any in the country ..tasty and cooked to perfection! Repel any inclination not to patronise due to uninviting appearance of the exterior ..a hidden gem!

This value-for-money eatery in Hout Bay is an interesting variation on a harbour restaurant in so far as you order from the kitchen counter and then go to your table where your food is delivered to you. We enjoyed a well-prepared traditional breakfast and a hake & calamari combo. Good food at excellent prices with a great view over the... More
