Great location along the water. View of Chapman's Peak. The food itself is average, but worth it for the experience of Hout Bay.

This is a seafood cafe that sells the most devine seafood. You order, pay and wait for your food and there is tables for you outside to enjoy your meal. A definite recommend for a meal.

There are numerous eateries in Hout Bay harbour. Some with inflated reputations and some with no pretentions whatsoever. Fish on the Rocks falls into the latter category. Don't be mistaken however, their quality of food and service is first class! You can choose to take away or sit down on the benches outside. The vibe is cosmopolitan and almost always... More

Had heard good things about this place. Decided to give it a try. Not worth it. The fish and chips had very little to no taste. The calamari was ok, however the tartar sauce was bland and watery. Service was quick though. Has a nice location pity the food does not compliment it.

We had lunch here while visiting the Hout Bay market next door, which is definitely worth putting on your itinerary. However, be aware that this is Fish and Chips South African style. You queue at the counter for your food and then take it outside to eat at one of the tables. It was good fish and chips though and... More

The food was tasteless, after travelling 22 hours to Cape Town for traditional fish and chips it was a real disappointment. Calamari was like rubber and all most of the coating was in the packet not on it. The chips were not slap chips. The overall place wasnt great, smelly and untidy. Only thing was quick service that was okay... More

Very enjoyable! Not gourmet by any stretch but well worth the visit! The fish was fresh and the chips were good. We went on December 28th so it was very full. The bathrooms were a problem with only one for boys and one for girls but the fresh ocean air and cute seals playing just off the rocks made up... More

The queues as always attest to the popularity of this icon, however the food was not as good as we are used to. One portion of chips was a bit under done, another had a chip in that could have been cooking all day, my calamari was very oily. The hake however was superb.
