Even then we were very lucky to get a table at this very popular eatery. We all loved the ambiance, décor and nostalgic feel of the place. The friendly efficient service combined with the sublime food made it a most enjoyable dining experience. Our party of 4 savoured Soup ,Goat's Cheese tart, and Chicken salad for starters, followed by mains... More

This was a really nice and cozy restaurant with really good food. The staff was great and during the whole night they managed to keep the cozy atmosphere even though it was quite busy, we didn't notice it. Definitely worth a dinner here!

This turned out to be our favourite restaurant in Franschoek - not because of the view but because of our brilliant waitress and wonderful food. I wish I'd got the waitress's name but she was very jolly. I had the calamari followed by the rib eye both of which were fantastic and my wife started with the Mussels and then... More

We tried to have an evening meal but as we approached there appeared to be lots of empty tables. The group in front we're asked if they had s reservation in English but when it became apparent they were French and they started to engage in this dialect they were accommodated. Stupidly I continued with the English language and was... More

Dear Nebraska 97 I’m not sure how to respond to your comments about our bistro. From October to March every year, is Franschhoek's tourist season. Most restaurants are bursting at the seams, and the popular ones can get booked up days (some even weeks) in advance. Empty tables both in and outside are waiting for guests that have reserved tables... More

Enjoyed lunch at the French Connection whilst on a day trip to the wine region from Cape Town in October. The restaurant was recommended by the tour operator and we were not disappointed. Good service, pleasant atmosphere and a lovely lunch. Plenty on the menu to choose from and whilst the restaurant was busy, we were served in a timely... More

Staff here are well trained and friendly, not always a given in this part of the world. French themed food reasonably executed.

We were on a tour with a local guide. He made us a time to be here for lunch. 1:00. We sat outside and it was charming. We thought the food was good. Friend had kudu, hubby had veal schnitzel, guide had the burger and I had the veggie flatbread. Everyone was happy. Service was efficient. Charming, quaint town. Wish... More

Our first visit was good. Simple well cooked food. Our second visit was a disaster. The restaurant was not busy but it took well over an hour for 6 kids and 2 adults to receive our order....which was wrong anyway on delivery. There are plenty more restaurants around rather than to waste our time again.

Dear lynes101 We were very disappointed to get your feedback from your recent dining experience with us. Most of our food is delivered to the table between 20 and 25 minutes, so over an hour is unacceptable. Please accept our apologies, this certainly is not the norm. Being a local we hope you get a chance to revisit, so we... More

First night in Franschoek and wanted good food but not necessarily "fine dining" this ticked the boxes and didn't disappoint, I had kingklip which was delicious and my husband had calamari followed by sirloin, we were warned our table was by the kitchen but it wasn't a problem at all for us

Thank Catherine E
