On my last review of this place I was upset that they changed the roll and the dog fell apart in a mushy mess halfway through, happily they went back to their original roll. We sat outside on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and had a couple of dogs and Birch Beer. The place was packed, looked like a scene from... More

Was on a hot dog tour of NJ and haven't been here since the 60s. Well the place hasn't changed that much. Hot dog has a good snap, smoked flavor, roll was a little disappointing. I guess you can't go back to what you remember. Service was friendly and fast but not sure if I would stop by if I'm... More

Was expecting more. Hot dogs have good flavor, just not a fan of thick casing. Sauerkraut was bland. Way, way too much bun. But then again, I compare to a place in upstate PA, the BP Inn, not sure there is a hot dog that can compete!

They use salt and pepper shakers to prop doors open. Prices are not posted. Years of dirt and grime are evident all over the walk up ordering area and dining areas. A fly was laying eggs on spent catsup atop an uncapped bottle. See attached photos.

Ran in for quick bite to go. Vast selection of foods decided to go simple and get a hot dog, two with sauerkraut and mustard buns very soft. Steamed buns to be exact. The hot dog was salty but had quite a snap to it. I would go back and try some of the other menu items. Very friendly service... More

Stopped by for a quick bite. Ordered a club sandwich& fries to go. When I opened up the sand which the first thing I noticed was that the sandwhich was not cut in quarters as it usually is- this made it very difficult to eat. The second problem was that although it was filled with big chunks of lettuce, it... More

I grew up in the area and always go for "one complete" when back there. What a disappointment...the quality of the hot dog itself, the bun, service less than mediocre. The place was always immaculate and it even did not seem up to the old standard. Have talked with several long time friends who had the same experience we did... More

Grew up in Union and have gone here for years for the Hot Dogs. The hot dogs are not what they used to be. The bun was bigger than the hot dog. Service has also gone down hill. On my last visit, I waited in line for 20 minutes with one window server working at a time while the other... More

I grew up here, have been here many times, and we always rave about this place. Today, it was not so good - largely because of the server and service - it was slow, incorrect and just plain bad. Good thing was not our first visit, or it would be the last.

Can't rate the food better than average, but the service was very friendly and accommodating to our group. We shared appetizers, best of which were the nachos, in my mind anyway. Didn't try their "signature" dish, hot dogs, but a friend said they weren't bad if you put sauerkraut, ketchup, and mustard on them. Another friend suggested chili toppings. I... More
