With no new Italian restaurants around Summit the established ones continue to get stale. Service slowly declines, food quality and innovation diminishes but “regulars” keep returning since there’s nothing better around. After 8 months since the last time we were there, waiters are grumpier and...More

I have eaten here numerous times; and, while the food is reliably good, there has never been a "Wow" moment. The place is always busy and they do a good job at getting your food out. Maybe that's the issue. Also, there are a ton...More

Dined here two to three times a month when we lived in Summit. We’re in town for a wedding so had to have dinner. There were 7 of us and 4 had the lasagna which is to die for. Maybe the best I’ve ever eaten...More

We’ve been to La Focaccia several times, and we’ll go back, but not too soon. Parking is on the street, and unless you’re lucky, there’s a long walk. Our reservation was honored, but even though we were there on time, we still had to wait...More

I admit, I have eaten here on numerous occasions. While never completely pleased, I always say "what the heck" and book again. Let's just say it's a scene. Tables are packed in which makes the noise level thunderous. It was very hard to talk and...More

As we return year after year this local restaurant has maintained it's quality and consistency. A BYO with very attentive staff, fresh good quality ingredients that are always well prepared. Usually busy, can get noisy on the weekends-but it is a good sound of customers...More

Service too. One of our summit goto's for great food and service. Only issue is it can get too loud at peak dinner hours. NYC style use of flavor. One of the last area old world Italian places. Excellent for couples date night.

Have gone here several times over the years and honestly I just don't think this is a place to get excited about. The food is good, just underwhelming. They are a bit on the expensive side and I just don't see any reason to visit...More

I really liked this place. At first, it just seems like your generic Italian restaurant, but then I started trying the food and it was fantastic. For starters, their Rosemary bread and olive oil is excellent. Then I had some scallops as an appetizer, which...More

What a menu! What great service! What beautiful surroundings! Locals must know of this gem as it is NOT in downtown Summit but sort of on the outskirts near independent and parochial schools. If you find yourself in this area, you MUST dine here.

Jacket and tie not required, but you may be more comfortable with a jacket only. Women are usually comfortable in a nice dress but not formal. Jeans are out.

Yes, La Foccacia does offer gluten free pasta and they have plenty of dishes that don't contain shellfish. I'm sure that they can suggest options or modify recipes to acommodate any other dietary restrictions you may have.
