Food, service and ambiance! Everything was terrific. Vegetarian soup and Cesar salad were quite good. Venetian London broil, kangaroo and skirt steak were all tasty. The dessert was excellent...a raspberry almond torte and the cappuccino was delicious. Will definitely be going back! Prices are quite good but probably because it is not near any scenic wonder. It is in a... More

We last visited the Sergeantsville Inn in 2011. At that time, my review focused on the slow service and bland food and since then we have never been back. A kitchen fire virtually destroyed the place a few years ago but to our surprise (and pleasure as the building is a period “treasure”) it was rebuilt and is again open... More

I will start off by saying this (and I cannot stress this point enough). DO NOT GET THE KANGAROO. The sauce it is in is delicious, but the meat itself is horribly game-y. Were it not for the sauce, the kangaroo would be inedible. I'm not saying this as someone who doesn't enjoy game meat either. I grew up on... More

The Sergeantsville Inn has been renowned for decades as one of the areas finest restaurants, but now it appears to be resting on its laurels, offering mediocre food and inferior service at haute cuisine prices -- but the prices at not the problem. I won't comment on the food because that is always a matter of subjective opinion, but there... More

I really wanted to give the Sergeantsville Inn a better review. We arrived at 5:50pm on St. Patricks Day. The very nice hostess with the red hair said it would be about 30 minutes and we could get a drink at the bar if we liked. We made our way over to the bar and it was packed. No place... More

Had dinner on March 11th. My wife and I were looking forward to having dinner with a couple of great clients and we had not been to this restaurant in quite awhile. We entered the restaurant and it was quite crowded but we were seated at our reservation time of 6:30. It took a while but our waitress took came... More

Food and atmosphere were great! The kitchen service and waitress were not great. Food took forever to come out and we had to chase down the waitress. I cannot imagine how much worse it would have been if the restaurant was busy.

This was our first visit. The building was an old house w beautiful pointed stone and beams. Our location was at the top of the steps in front of a big chandelier. Not much to look at other than the big chandelier. Service was good but it took 50 minutes for us to get our appetizer then another 35 minutes... More

Stunning decor in a beautiful location . Obviously a big hit with the locals and impressively busy for a cold , wet Tuesday evening . Staff are professional , knowledgeable and friendly with a great rapport with all patrons . Great menu selection : both food and beverages . Highly recommended .

Dined here with friends this past weekend - this was a return visit from over a year ago and I look forward to my next dinner at this wonderful historic inn in Stockton, NJ. Saturday evening dinner crowd was impressive - the inn was crowded through 10PM. Traditional American cuisine - I had the braised beef short ribs; others in... More
