I only had drinks and specifically beer. Nice ambience although it can get very crowded very quickly.

We dropped a very large group on them unexpectedly the week before Christmas. Staff was great about re-arranging furniture to accommodate us, service was good, food (pub food) was good.

My goto place in Princeton. The food is varied and yummy. They have all kinds of spirits. The dress is casual but the service is great.

One of the few restaurants around for decades. With family in Princeton I have enjoyed the A&B many many times. However this visit was disappointing. Place felt worn and unkept. The Shepherd's Pie was always the best but has deteriorated so much that those who ordered it did not finish it. The burgers are still great but the fries are... More

For a great many years I have met an New York acquaintance for lunch in Princeton. We always eat at The Alchemist&Barrister very satisfactorily, This past time, however, things were different. The sturdy wood tables had been replaced with less sturdy, smaller slatted tables (to increase the number of tables and diners). The noise level was stifling, tv screens intrusive,... More

If you are sensitive to high volume noise - from people and background music, you might have a hard time here. Food is fine -- a little on the creative side for this setting (which is actually a nice surprise space) but the farm-to-table and artisanal labels on items surprised me. Service was friendly but unskilled, without knowledge of ingredients... More
