I'm really serious. I've been to both. SH85 has good food and a terrible experience (see my review .... despite the $100 a person tab, they'll shove you out the door like Mickey-D's. Stage Left, on the other hand, is beautiful, caring and a great...More

We came here yesterday to celebrate my son's graduation from college. We were a party of 20 so they gave us a private room called the Wine Library. Where do I start... The room was beautiful, the service was impeccable and the food was fantastic....More

Have been here a number of times, since visiting new family at St Peters. Service is exceptional and food is as well. Steaks and Lamb Chops are great but don't forget the appetizers....All Good Paige, the bartender , is extremely helpful and capable.

There's a reason Stage Left is consistently rated among the finest eating establishments in NJ - they get it all right: food, service, ambiance. We were lucky enough to "win" dinner for two at State Left from a charitable organization (which already tells you about...More

Description
Restaurateurs Francis Schott and Mark Pascal operate two of New Jersey's most storied restaurants. Stage Left Steak -- celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2017 -- is famous for its wood-grilled steaks, award-winning wine list and pioneering cocktail program, and has been an incubator for many of the NY region's top chefs and mixologists. Serving Brooklyn-Italian style fare, Catherine Lombardi opened in 2005, paying homage to the cooking of Mark's grandmother. Executive Chef James (J.R.) Belt presides over both kitchens. Ricky Stevens is Chef de Cuisine of Stage Left Steak. Schott + Pascal bonded over their shared love of food and drink upon meeting at Rutgers. For more than 8 years, the duo hosted the podcast, The Restaurant Guys, chatting with esteemed culinary guests from Gael Greene and John Mariani to Ruth Reichl and Chefs Eric Ripert and Grant Achatz.
