Mom was racing towards a 100th birthday in December but a November party made better sense for those travelling. Eppes Essen was an easy choice -- the owner had worked at a fabled NYC deli. High marks from the Brooklyn family. The food was terrific, just right for mid-day but the service was superb, with great attention to needs of... More

Very good food and service. Somewhat cold, stark environment, but because it is a large restaurant, there are always tables available and I've never had to wait which makes it a good place to go - especially with a large group. Prices are high but portions are big.

Great food for both breakfast and rest of the day! Portions are large (I always take leftovers for lunch the next day after eating there).

I haven't had a bad meal here. Most people don't like it but, they have a great tongue sandwich. Ordered it lean and hot. It was delicious. They also have a large selection of sugar free deserts to take home.

Eppes is a little pricey so we don't go too often but the food is definitely worth the price! The best corned beef sandwich in the area hands down and the coleslaw is the best I've ever had!

The setting is pleasant and the service is friendly and efficient. That's it for the good. On the bad side I won't mind things being grossly overpriced if the food was good. BUT IT IS NOT. I was served the most tasteless, dry brisket sandwich. My mother's corn beef was a bit better than my sandwich but that means mine... More

The matzo ball soup was good. Mashed potatoes were average. Reuben sandwich was huge. Everything is overpriced, but at least it tasted good. I don't know that I would go very often just because of the prices. $20+ sandwiches is a little crazy.

Hubby and I visited for the first time. Won't be our last! I had the classic reuben sandwich. Light rye bread, a very lean yet tasty pastrami meat piled a mile high, sour kraut, and topped with a delish swiss cheese. Available Russian dressing, or dark deli mustard! Impressive! Also lovely steak fries, classic Jewish deli pickles, and very fresh... More

I had the pastrami sandwich. Came with free pickles and a good sized bowl of creamy cole slaw. The meat was some of the best I ever tasted. It was pricey, but worth it if you love this type of food. Highly recommended.
