Our large group was happy with the great food and service. Seafood was very good which was expected. The surprise was an outstanding filet steak and perfectly seasoned mash potatoes and vegetables. Will return soon.

I have dined at Max's many times. It used to be better. Service is slow, food is average, and prices are high. We waited an hour between courses. The place wasn't busy. We will not be back.

At the last minute on Father's Day, the wife and I had a hankering for good seafood and were able to make reservations at Max's Seafood in Gloucester City. We were given our choice of seating by the hostess, and greeted shortly by our waitress....More

You cant call this a hidden gem anymore, as its quality has gotten out beyond the locals. The restaurant is fun in tight quarters. Seafood is amazing - I had grilled octopus and monk fish from the menu. Salmon on a plank was heavenly. Everyone...More

Dining with friends this time - this place never disappoints. The food is very tasty each time and your palate can detect quality ingredients. Parking is diagonal to the restaurant. There is bar section in this establishment and dining room. Retro decor is very appealing.

A great place for lunch or dinner. Happy Hour is elegant & friendly. Food and service are excellent. Drawbacks: pricey.

So if I were going to create a "Mount Rushmore" of restaurants in SJ, Max's HAS to be included. It's always been one of my faves. Stopped in today and had New Orleans chowder and jambalaya. The food came out almost immediately and was piping...More

This was my first time at Max's. I love seafood so was looking forward to it. The crab dip app was very good, but I think they could have done better than untoasted pita wedges for dipping. Crab cakes were great. Not much filler, and...More

If you can, do, but I think that two people could be accomodated on a Sunday.
