Breakfast are always delicious at Ponzio's. Also Thursday night is chicken pot pie night and it is a good idea to get your order in early because they run out. Their desserts are fabulous are often included with our birthday dinners. Try the chocolate mousse cake or strawberry shortcake.

Yes Ponzio's is a good diner with decent food but it's just that and nothing more. A little more pricey than your average diner for less food. This diner is extremely over hyped by the locals - not saying don't go - just don't expect much.

It had been many years since I'd last eaten at this iconic fixture in Cherry Hill. I'm sorry to report that it was a disappointment. This once über-popular diner is in disrepair: the carpets are worn and stained, the tables and chairs are sticky; in fact the whole place seemed in need of a good cleaning. Or perhaps I should... There is plenty of parking and the food is good but it is a diner with restaurant prices. Pleasant and prompt service.

Was recently there for breakfast with my husband and my cousin. It was my first time there in over 10 years. While the food was ok, the prices are outrageous. Almost $40.00 for a standard breakfast. The servers were not friendly at all. We felt very rushed. There are diners that are equally as good for a lot less money.... More

NJ is noted for its dinners. This is the classic experience. Food isn't exceptional but the menu has everything and service is extremely efficient and homey. Be sure to check out the bakery goods.

Food is always good. Love breakfast, salad and club sandwiches, and make sure you save room for dessert. A good crowd pleaser.

We stopped in for a late lunch and the food was very good. The bakery items are also very good to take home and enjoy for a real treat. The service is good to very good most of the time. It is a busy restaurant, so try and beat the crowd at dinner.

Ponzio's appears to be a bit of a local fav, so curiosity took over when one of my kid's had a half day at school, and we were both hungry. Service was friendly. Ambiance is what you'd expect at a clean well-kempt Jersey diner. Fairly standard kid fare; I do like the healthy options though - veggies instead of just... More

Good thing you did not complain about price in person! They call the cops!

Ponzio’s Review

CAUTION: Don’t complain to the owner

I have just had one of the worst experiences ever at a restaurant. After spending over 1 hour waiting for our check, once our meal was finished, (yes… over one hour for our waiter to tell us how much we owe) they had the audacity to charge me and my date 18.5% gratuity for their incompetent service.

When I complained and said the service was not even worth 10 % Gratuity and I wanted $2.56 off the bill for lousy service. The owner of Ponzio’s Diner in Cherry Hill, NJ called the police. When the police arrived the officer was very cordial and calmed down the Diner owner, we were able to leave.

Do you believe a Diner owner would call the police over a complaint about incompetent service that could have been settled by allowing a $2.56 Deduction off of a 48.00 bill? ($7.56 of which was unearned gratuity).

I was willing to leave a $5.00 gratuity for the incompetent service. When I made the manager aware of my displeasure, he refused to compensate me and asked me if he wanted to get the police involved. I thought he was joking so said “sure call the police” What a Buffoon.

I have probably had about 100 or so meals at this diner over the last 10 years… I never had a problem with the food or the service. But after this… he has lost me as a customer forever.

I though the Gratuity was a stipend, tendered by a satisfied customer, to a service provider, for a job well done. Since both my children worked as wait staff at several restaurants during their high school and college years, I understand the rules and usually leave a gratuity in excess of 25%. My girlfriend always says I leave too much.

This service was really bad and the owner compounded it (the poor service) with his actions.

After he called the police he said I could not leave until the police arrived, he has us on surveillance cameras and he would file a complaint with the police if we leave. (He should check his surveillance footage to see if he would have commended his staff on how we were served.)

I really like the food there and the only way I will ever return is if I get an apology from this owner. I can assure you that he is not man enough to see his mistake. So I guess… never again at Ponzio's.
