I now come here whenever I come through Portsmouth, although I was sorry they were closed Thanksgiving weekend. A quaint and very cozy atmosphere where you can actually hear yourself talk. The wait staff is very friendly and the food is great! From the cheese tray to the pork to the casoulet to the wine. I have never been disappointed... More

Portsmouth is a town full of restaurants. It's always a wonderful surprise to find one that combines excellent service, tasty menu options, well priced entrees, generous portions and delicious food. Bridge Street Bistrot has a cosy and comfortable vibe, previously called Café Mirabelle. Good basic French cuisine, mushroom crepes, Coq au Vin, Charcuterie and Cheese plate, Profiteroles, Creme Brulee, all... More

As good a French - or other - restaurant as one can find in the region. Advertised as one of the best restaurants on the Seacoast, they were not exaggerating. I had the beef filet - rare- and my wife had the duck. Both were delicious. For dessert, I had the profiterole: generous scoop of vanilla ice cream in choux... More

This restaurant is our favorite, in a town filled with many good restaurants. The food is amazing, the service is impeccable, and the ambiance is warm and romantic. Owners Chris and Stephan Mayeux, are truly dedicated, and make everyone feel welcome.

A great find courtesy of a friend. Outside the center ring of restaurants and shops, but well worth the few extra steps. The Duck was awesome, the staff eclectic and engaging. Reservations recommended.

I've eaten at a good number of Portsmouth restaurants, but never Cafe Mirabelle (old name) or the Bridge Street Bistrot (current name). I didn't know of any word of mouth reputation but the Yelp and OpenTable reviews looked favorable. I must say, we had a delightful experience there. They had some cool cocktails, a mushroom crepe appetizer (shared by 4)... More

The same talented couple who operated Café Mirabelle on Bridge Street for many years rebranded not too long ago, with the result being the Bridge Street Bistrot. The result is also one of the coziest, most charming dining spots in the city. Not to mention the entire dining experience. For those familiar with Bistro Jeanty in Yountville, California, there are... More

We've lived in Portsmouth for several years and for some reason never made it here before. May be the best restaurant in this town full of great restaurants. Very comfortable setting and attention to detail. The food is fantastic. The duck is amazing, but everything was great. Service was perfect, friendly and helpful, our server (Hannah) added to an already... More

We had an excellent seafood dinner, well prepared, and delivered from gracious servers. There were 2 large parties, but the noise level was still low enough for us to have a conversation.

Very pretty restaurant with great food and service. Perfect for a quiet dinner. Menu is extensive and French. The dining room has a feeling of eating outdoors with high ceiling and branches full of lights. Such a pleasant evening.
