We took some friends from Oregon here for dinner, telling them how good it was based on past experiences. The 4 of us, had some mixed reviews. My Halibut was overcooked, and this is a restaurant that strong suit is fish, so I find this...More

What a find! We were here on vacation so it an easy walk from our downtown hotel. Seemed more like a neighborhood gem rather than touristy restaurant which we loved. Had to wait about 30 min for a table which was fine since they had...More

Our hotel concierge suggested we go there to eat, saying it's where the locals go. It was set back from the main drag and a small bar type atmosphere. We tried the oysters and crab-stuffed mushrooms. Both were really good. The waitress was great -...More

Service was friendly, attentive and swift. We had a Thai fish curry and a monkfish with salad. Both very good if not exceptional but hard not to recommend given generic nature of local competition. Enjoyable and tasty. Not cheap but fair value given quality.

I have always liked the atmosphere at Jumpin Jay's (I walk by often) and the service was good, but I was really disappointed with the food. Starting with the menu.. It seems like a cop out to have a selection of fish and a selection...More

A bit on the dim side in lighting, but pleasant atmosphere and good service. Fresh seafood is specialty--grilled swordfish and halibut were nicely cooked and tasty, with choose of several sauces. Oysters were excellent with choice of several tasty Massachusetts varieties. They are advertising "shuck...More

Recommended as the trendy choice for seafood in downtown. Had dinner there with a group of traveling friends. Food was mixed. Some very good but not all. Pricey. Not a bad choice but probably not the best choice.

Jumpin Jay's, as usual, had a great selection of fresh fish mixed with it's signature sauces and preparation. In the past I have always thought of Jumpin Jay's as excellent but it had a couple of minor blemishes this time. First my dinning companion got...More

This unassuming restaurant on the corner is rather oddly furnished inside with the feel of a diner. The front of house are cheerful and charming. We ate at the bar rather than wait for a table and were efficiently attended by two helpful and pleasant...More

The quality of fare is unsurpassed, with fish arriving daily from local fisherman as well as some exotic catches from locations such as New Zealand and Ecuador. Our raw bar offers an extensive variety of shellfish found in New Hampshire. Our specialties menu offers more traditional flavor, including Maine Crab Cakes, Haddock Piccata and our popular Linguine in White Clam Sauce. The atmosphere is casually hip, with no pretense.
