My husband and I are huge "foodies", which is one of the reasons we chose Portsmouth as the destination for a weekend away. We felt really overwhelmed by the many, many great dining choices in town, but I'm so glad we ended up choosing Moxy as one of our dinner spots during our stay. Moxy is a self-proclaimed "American tapas"... More

This is our go-to restuarant for a delicious meal for any special occasion. I adore all of their fancy cocktails-- they will also make a delicious mock-tail for anyone in your party who doesn't drink. Particular menu highlight are the mini hot dogs. It doesn't sound gourmet but it is. You definitely need a reservation, it's a pretty small place.... More

Plan on more time than just a meal. While the tapas are small (OK for sharing with one other) they allow for a broad selection of tastings. The rabbit was outstanding. It is quiet, comfortable, and tasty,

This is my favorite restaraunt in Portsmouth. The chef is very cutting edge and not afraid to take chances. They use all local ingrediants which not only makes for delicious drinks and food but is a win win for small independent farmers, etc. it has a great, friendly atmosphere and attentive, courteous staff. I eat there every time I'm in Portsmouth. In... More

Been wanting to try this place and I'm glad we did. This is the first time we have tried the small plate way to have dinner. What a great experience! Not only was the food great but the service was fast and friendly and the cost was very reasonable. Our server helped us with our choices and was so nice.... More

AMAZING meal. Maybe the best we've ever had. Here's the breakdown: Atmosphere: super cool vibe and not too noisy Service: Perfect. Kind staff and the pacing of the meal is awesome. The tapas come out about every 15 minutes so you can enjoy them one (or two) at a time Food: Of course this is the best part! We had... More

I've celebrated many occasions here such as birthdays, girls nights, etc. I have never once been disappointed. Everything here is absolutely amazing from the food, drinks, and service! Always a must done when in the area.

We've been visiting Moxy for several years and they consistently manage to serve up really terrific food without fail. The menu changes over time, though some things (like the incredible white bean spread appetizer) remain available. Described as "ultra-locavore" the food indeed is for the most part local farm-to-table. Dishes are creative and almost always delicious. A unique American take... More

Went for dinner with my husband. The menu sounded really fun (both descriptions themselves and the food) so we were excited. Settled in with a glass of wine and made 5 selections to share. The highlights of the selections were the johnny cake community (a bit bigger dish) and the fried clams. The other three were frankly uneventful (short rib... More

When magazines rate Moxy in Portsmouth, New Hampshire as "one of the best restaurants in New England," we had to try it. Our high expectations were met with a friendly server named Remi, who seemed happy to be there. 1. Kale with pumpkin seen granola bar. $4. Delicious but oily. 2. Mushrooms. Shoved onto an oversized plate, these awkward fungi... More
