For a couple of years now, when my wife and I find ourselves in Portsmouth during lunchtime, we always head to The Kitchen. The broad range of items on the menu makes it exciting to "try something new". We did that again today ACD were not disjointed. If you like lamb burgers with an Indian flair, choose the APU BURGER.... More

Saw this place on Triple D and decided to give it a shot. It was packed but worth the wait. Sandwiches were big, flavorful and terrific. Huge slices of fresh turkey, great roast beef and great produce. The star of our lunch was the "Spudsters" with garlic parmesan and truffle ketchup - MORE PLEASE! We had a great lunch and... More

Had a terrific lunch at The Kitchen. You stand in line, order and pay for your food and drinks and then grab a table. Eclectic menu and local beer. Terrific lunch!

We'd had a busy day sightseeing and had eaten a late lunch so were looking for a relaxed place for a quick dinner. It was perfect the atmosphere was quietly buzzing and the food came quickly. Between the four of us we had burgers , ribs beer and wine. All delicious. We loved it so much we will try and... More

Have been here on two occasions now and we plan to go back again to try more things on their menu. We have had their cold sandwiches, flatbread pizza and turkey burger, all delicious! We love little places like this that use quality ingredients and make their food with care, and all reasonably priced. Look forward to going back again... More

The key item here is the spudsters. It's essentially a tater tot made out of mashed potatoes and are quite good. I had a sandwich that was quite good. My wife ordered what she thought was soup and turned out to be potato salad that she described as average. A little expensive for what you get but not completely unreasonable.

I stopped by for a quick dinner and I was extremely disappointed. I ordered an Italiano sub on a baguette. There was no baguette just a sub roll, the cheese was in pieces, the quality of the deli meats was doubtful. Worst sandwich ever. And horrible service. I asked to have a small modification and it was denied as everything... More

This has a relaxing easy atmosphere, with a nice variety of sandwiches and snacks offered. There is an outdoor dining space also.

We've rediscovered this place and now keep going back. Lots of choices and made by people who clearly care about the food they're putting out each day. The energy put into the cubano makes for a fantastic sandwich. Although great for lunch it's an unsung hero for dinner - especially if you want to eat well in a relaxed atmosphere... More
