We got there too late for soft pretzels but it was still a success because we were able to enjoy the aromas of fresh baked goods and shop the grocery section. Very nice lady at the counter. Some parking out front on the street. Get there early for best selection.

Must get there early for the best pick of their scrumptious breads, pastries, brotchen and cakes. Also offer other items for your home cooking menus. We went a bit late and missed out on baked goods we were hankering for. Better get up early for best picks. Hours are limited, check web site for specifics.

Best pretzels ever!! My only regret was not buying more. Call ahead and preorder it is well worth it. I cannot comment on any other products but the smell when you walk in the door is unbelievable

This bakery is a gem in quiet Hillsborough- featuring fabulous traditional German sourdoughs, ryes, wholegrain loaves, rolls - the bread is not overly sweet like many breads in the US. Also serve cinnamon rolls, fresh pretzels, and other cakes. Also available German/European dry goods (mustard, sauerkraut, jams, condiments, tinned herring etc.) and small goods (Bratwurst). A must visit if in... More

Quaint local bakery with great offerings. Just get there early or there may not be an item you want. Great breads and soups.

I don't have much to say about German Johns. Drove through back in December, a couple of weeks before Christmas. My stepfather is German and a couple of years ago we visited at the holidays and his mom (Oma) made stollen. I am not sure how I hadn't discovered stollen previously, but it was first experience with it. It was... More

The shop always has a wide variety. Not only to meet the needs of visitors but also the appetites of a large community of German, Swiss and Austrian. The food is always fresh and tempting. I go in for two or three items and leave with ten. 40 miles away we try to go every six months.
