Ashley was our server and was very friendly and helpful. We split our ribeye steak and they served it on separate plates no charge. Wish I'd ordered the cabbage/beef soup.

I hadn't been here in over a year as my previous experience then was not a good one. There are new owners though so I thought that I'd give it a try. Woww! What a difference. Dinner was excellent from the soup to the the veggies to the quail that I had. Impeccable!

Unfortunately, Ormachea's no longer specializes in Basque food. But the food is still good and plentiful. The menu runs the gamut from steaks and burgers through seafood to lamb (the only Basque specialty). The service is swift and friendly; the bald guy keeps everybody hustling and regularly makes passes to ensure that everybody has what they want. It isn't a... More

Basque food served with complimentary burgundy. Food was well sized and the staff were very friendly.

I've been to ormacheas twice now and had pretty different experiences each time. The first my wife and I arrived late on a cold night and were treated to fantastic Basque family food and exceptional service. Most recently my brother and I stopped in and experienced uneven quality and service. The bartender was friendly and welcoming, but my soda was... More

Our travel to the Bay Area leads us through the town of Winnemucca, NV. This town is a great reason to get off I-80. We got in late and looked up where we could enjoy some authentic Basque cuisine. Yes - the Basques came to the desert country in Nevada to sheep herd a number of generations ago - and... More

We asked for a restaurant recommendation at our hotel. When asked about what type of food we wanted I replied that I wanted to go where the locals go to eat. We had very attentive service but not overly so. We ordered the steak and I had the mashed potatoes which were just like homemade, complete with skins for more... More

I checked out first the highly recommended Martin Hotel for a fine Basque dinner and was hesitant to order a meal because of the very high prices. I then went to Oracle a few blocks away. I ended up ordering the calamari, salad and beans with home-made bread. Everything was fresh and delicious, especially the very large pieces of calamari.... More

This restaurant is known for it's Basque food but I had a coffee rubbed flatiron steak cooked exactly medium rare. My wife had the prime rib. She ordered it rare and the server waited until my wife OKed it. Just in case it was too rare. Great service. The sides were good too. The meal came with complimentary wine. The... More
