The Forest Buffet is just ok. The carving station beef was dry and tough. The selection was limited for such a large buffet. The sushi was sub par. I liked the Asian chicken wings and pork ribs and not much else.

The Seafood Buffet at Harrahs was fantastic. It is called the Forest buffett. The Kung Pao chicken was delicious. The Prime Rib just melted in your mouth. The onion gravy was so tasty. The crab legs were very tasty. Highly recommend this Buffet. We went back on Thursday night and the Tex-Mex food was not tasty at all. Thank God... More

Before skiing, we had great breakfasts at American River. Friendly waitstaff, Large menu and reasonable pricing. If you don't want breakfast try Won Ton soup. Yummy

Tahoe has a lot of great places to eat. If you want good food at a good price Harrah's has all the rest beat. I have never eaten anything I didn't enjoy, I have always gotten good service. I'm a chef so I am a picky eater and I have always enjoyed ever meal I have had at Harrahs restaurants.

American River Cafe is a good for breakfast, especially if you are really hungry. Very large portions! The buffet on the 18th floor is okay. But, if you go on Italian night, go to the pasta station for entrees made to your specifications. That made the dining experience good instead of okay. Very nice view.

My wife and I had Thanksgiving dinner at the buffet on the 18th floor. The view of the lake was spectacular. They had more or less traditional Thanksgiving fare with some other choices for the not so traditional. Most of the casino buffets are similar and this one offers plenty of well prepared food. It was very busy but the... More

Ate at this cafe several times during my 5 day stay at Harrah's. The food was always good and the prices moderate for a hotel restaurant. The atmosphere feels like you are in a rainforest with trees and waterfalls. Very enjoyable!

Came to the buffet (18th floor) at Harrahs on a Friday @ 6:00 pm for the seafood. Had to wait in line for about an hour. Cost was $32 per person. By the time we got seated it was dark and could not see the Lake. Service was excellent, sushi selection was poor, prime rib was cooked medium to well... More

We went to the Harrah's buffet for dinner one evening we were in South Lake Tahoe. I typically do not go for dinner buffet, since I don't eat "meat" (i.e, I will eat fish on occassion) nor do I usually eat enough to feel it's a good value. But my family wanted to go so we did. The buffet selection... More
