Limited selection for those who don't eat wheat (all their soy sauce contains wheat). Warning: nothing is marked. Red Bean ice cream was good, as was the green beans and sea vegetable.

We visit this AYCE restaurant every time we are in Las Vegas. Very consistent quality and much better than Yama sushi. See my previous review last year. With 30 different types of rolls, pick several but leave room for all the other items like hand rolls, sashimi, sushi, udon, noodles and the variety of cooked meats and seafood. The ice... More

A friend recommended Makino to us since we love Japanese food. We dined at Makino on a Friday night and was very glad we did. The variety of sushi was phenomenal. About 10-12 types of Nagiri, lots of rolls, hand rolls, sashimi, etc. Their shrimp and vegetable tempura were very good, as well as their ribs, crab legs and desserts.... More

Got there half hour before closing, which we did not know the hours of operation since it was the spur of the moment luncheon on a Saturday afternoon and was told by the hostess, and 2 waitresses that they were closing. We advised them that was fine we still wanted to be seated. The whole time we ate, we felt... More

My first visit was in September, what an eye opener! People waiting outside before the restaurant opened at 11:30am! And the spread...endless offerings of sushi varieties, salads, entrees, desserts, and a tireless staff making sure you're taken care of during your meal. The sushi quality was very good, and for all you can eat for $19.95, what a value! I... More

It is obvious this is not a place where you find high quality sushi. However if you are HUNGRY for lots of ok quality sushi and other choices then this is probably the grand daddy of Japanese buffet restaurants in Vegas. And they have been around for many years, used to have other location as well (Downtown outlet mall, now... More

The array and display of food is amazing! There was a huge line for opening which they handled quickly and with a smile. The sushi and sashimi were fresh the rolls beautifully arranged. The assortment of seafood and other cooked Japanese foods were so delicious. Desserts small and freshly made everyday with fresh fruit and a chocolate fountain for good... More

This is an excellent, all-you-can-eat sushi buffet that usually also offers teriyaki chicken, baked salmon, fried shrimp, tempura and salad, plus a small but tasty assortment of desserts. During the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas there are busloads of convention attendees who arrive at Makino's each evening. The rest of the year, the restaurant can be crowded with "locals,"... More

Buffett at Makino has been cheaper than Todai’s. Regarding the ever-increasing cost, Makino “only” increased a modest 2 dollars in 3 years. Today we six here to celebrate a reunion and all received senior discounts. (to be exact, $16 each for the lunch). Sushi/Rolls/Nigiri, Shrimp tempura, baked Mussel, grilled Salmon, Calamari legs/steak, Sukiyaki/Teriyaki Beef, Udon/Ramen, etc. all here and all... More
