I was so excited to visit the Golden Steer for a third time. I was here for the lobster tail, and just didn't live up to my expectations. It was tough and just not enough flavor. As I sat at the bar waiting on my...table, I heard comments that the place just isn't the same after opening back up after Covid. My dirty vodka martini was great and Caesar salad was too. The mashed potatoes I ordered I sent back. How can you mess up mashed potatoes, I ask? I hate to give a subpar review but thought The Golden Steer should know.More

As soon as I confirmed my trip to Las Vegas, I called my favorite restaurant to make a reservation...5 months in advance! It would be my first visit on almost two years and I was excited to go back to the Golden Steer. I've been...coming to Las Vegas since I was a small kid in the 60's, thanks to my Dad's annual convention, so I grew up knowing the city's steak houses. Some, like Copper Cart and House of Lords, care resigned to history But the Steer remains. I'd booked an early dinner on arrival day and anticipated a good meal. I was not disappointed! The staff was as courteous and welcoming as I remembered, though Covid brought masks and gloves as the latest uniform additions (fine by me!) I was escorted to Holly Madison's favorite booth in the old school main dining room. The wait staff discussed my choices: Caesar salad, a bone in 22oz ribeye, peppercorn sauce and a loaded baked potato. Everything arrived perfectly done and the meal was as delicious as I remembered. No room for Bananas Foster, but I promised to save room on my next trip. Service was impeccable, and the atmosphere just right (not too quiet, not too scene, not too loud). My entire dinner (before tip) cost as much as a steak would in some of the Strip properties and was just as satisfying. I look forward to another meal soon.More

I was very happy with the service I received when visiting Golden Steer for a recent special occasion celebratory meal. Truly classic Vegas dining experience! Impeccable service and the Caesar salad! So good I felt compelled to mention it in a review of a STEAK...HOUSE! This restaurant has been in business for over 60 years and it shows in their attentiveness to their craft. Big thumbs up!More

Very old style lavish inside and the food is excellent. Servers were top notch. Food is very expensive.

For not knowing what to expect I was surprised. The wait staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. They made sure we had a good time. They kept our drinks filled which is a must for us. The waiter made the Cesar salad at the table...from scratch which was interesting to watch. I have to admit the volume in a restaurant was loud. I didn’t expect that from a formal restaurant.More

We had high expectations because of the reviews. The atmosphere and service at this steakhouse are excellent. The food, not so much. My ribeye was lacking in flavor and did not come out hot. My fiancé had the veal parmigiana and enjoyed his dinner.More

The food is really great ( I mean, REALLY great) and while very pricey, it lives up to the hype. Once seated, the service was also outstanding - attentive but not at all rushing you through your meal. My only knock is they demand you...arrive within a 15 minute window of you reservation or lose the table - but then made us wait over 1/2 an hour past our reservation time to be seated. Since we were already eating late - this meant we ate (for us) really late. The woman I took to be running the place was very apologetic and nice enough to offer a free appetizer - but then it was added it to the bill (it’s on me that I missed it but still…). That said, I’ll leave the review the way the restaurant left me, with a good taste in my mouth.More

Golden Steer met our expectations. Yes it is expensive and everything is A La Cart, however the service was excellent from beginning to end. The steaks were very good along with the Jumbo Loaded Baked Potato and Salads. We requested a booth and they gave...us the Dean Martin Booth. They also offered us some cheesecake as it was our anniversary dinner. If you want to spend a little money and want a classic vegas dining experience with some good steak and seafood I would highly recommend the Golden Steer. Even the outside reminded you of Old School Las Vegas.More

This steakhouse is a real find! Don't judge the outside -- located in a rundown section of Vegas in a rundown strip mall -- because a culinary treasure awaits within! The service is impeccable and the food superior. I haven't had a Caesar Salad like...that in over 25 years. Both my husband and I had Prime Rib and it was fabulous. We also had the creamed spinach which was also delicious. This restaurant has been open over 60 years and they have honed their niche to perfection. Only flaw - we had to wait a little long for our check, butthat was MINOR. Go, Go, Go to this Gem!More
