She who must be obeyed and I have tried to eat here for nearly 4 years now and something has always got in the way .either they were closed or we had to cancel at the last minute. However this time we made the reservation for dinner and by 12am I even knew what I wanted for my dinner 😁 We were welcomed warmly with full covid 19 protocols and seated in a beautifully decorated dining room with a suttle sea side theme. My starter of muscles was devine and generous to a fault . And so so tasty .Her indoors had the crab salad which too was lovely and not overpowering. My main was the chef's hot seafood platter which had prawns ,sea bass, monkfish, salmon, scallops, muscles all in the most beautiful sauce. I actually asked Susan our server to ask the other guests to leave for 5 min so I could pick the plate. Manners out the window I didn't care 😳 I was so taken with the chowder I had it for desert much to the amusement of both our servers Susan and Caoimhe. My partner had sticky toffee pudding all washed down with a pot of tea and an Irish coffee. Our hosts were engaging and whitty. Service was faultless 3 courses with 3 rounds of drinks Tea coffee €88.00 Highly recommended

Eating solo in this time of Covid is difficult: why take a table for 2 and cut their profit/revenue potential by half when restaurants are already struggling?? But I was solo so I booked the day before to gauge the “solo dining attitude” and to confirm I could get a spot. SO glad I did! Susan, the waitress, was a joy. Welcoming, happy, pleasant and full of information, such as seafood provenance. Another diner reached out (not literally, you know, c-19 and all!) and suggested the scallops. So glad he did as the menu is extensive, and I’d overlooked them. I love scallops! I did get the Scallops Thermidor, and it was truly perfect. Rich, creamy, flavorful- but not just overly buttery like some places do. Perfect. Nice side salad, extra side order of garlic mash, a bit o wine, and I was set! Would definitely go back and try a few other goodies on the menu. Nice steak selection from the look of it! Thanks Susan, from this Susan. I’ll be back. ;-)

Myself and my partner are huge fans of the West End. Definitely the best seafood chowder in Ireland. We have never had a meal in the West End that hasn't been exceptional. Its not only the food that's exceptional. The staff provide a fantastic welcome and are very accommodating. The bedrooms are warm and cosy and have fantastic views and a tasty full Irish breakfast sets you up for the day. We would highly recommend a visit!

Went for dinner having looked at the menu online. However , the menu we were given on arrival did not match the prices online. Considerably more expensive! Two of us ordered the crab bake. It came in a small pan with a huge portion of chips and salad but no vegetables. We asked could we swap the salad for a portion of vegetables and we’re told yes, they had mushrooms and onions - hardly veg which you would earn with a fish dish! The crab bake consisted of a lot of sauce, topped with bread crumbs but very little crabmeat! On receiving the bill we noticed we were charged extra for the vegetables even though they were a substitute for the salad. Subsequently the Manager struck off this charge. When we commented on the lack of crabmeat we were told this reflected the high price of crabmeat in the market. We let it be known that we were dissatisfied with the meal and left. We won’t be back!

What a lovely spot for dinner! We were staying down the road during vacay and it was suggested by the owners at the home we rented. Everything was great, the fish dishes, they were so fresh! I told them it was my sisters birthday and they made a yummy plate of several desserts and came out singing ! Such attention to detail. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

It must be said that I paid €50 for this room so wasnt expecting much, just wanted a place to put the head down before I played Tralee golf links the next day. Nice location and some lovely views, room was nice on first impression,no toiletries in room. Food was nice and was given menu by a lovely girl, Guinness in bar was lovely and lads behind the bar couldn't be nicer. Had to take a phone call and was interrupted by a blonde waitress telling me I had to pay my bill, as if she thought I was going to do a runner!!Even though I was staying there !! Went to bed and room was very cold, even though I stayed in May, tried to put on heater which was left in room ,but that was a fire hazard! Bed like a rock ,duvet and pillows the cheapest of the cheap, couldn't sleep a wink, was contemplating going out to sleep in my car it was that bad. Couldn't wait to go down for breakfast in morning and get out of there. Lady serving breakfast was lovely and breakfast was grand. All in all most of the staff very great but the rooms could definitely be improved on, food spot on but a bit pricey.

She who must be obeyed and I have eaten here a couple of times in the last few weeks. As always the food is fresh the service friendly. The sea breeze fills your lungs with the flavour of the sea and the food just fulfills the expierance. As the food is whatever the fishermen land that day your menu is a hand written blackboard and not your typical typed menu. But hell that's what you come to a place like this for. Freshness Flavour And great value

We stayed here for a few nights at beginning of July. I must stress that this is not just for the restaurant, it's for the hotel rooms too. The restaurant was run by extremely hard working staff absolutely run off their feet. Seafood was nice but food overall was expensive. The room we stayed in was very very tired. Bedding was clean but marked with tan or makeup. The sink was badly cracked and it was nearly impossible to fill the kettle from it because it was so small. The kettle had to be plugged in from the floor. The cups were chipped etc. I want to finish by saying that the restaurant and bar were completely mobbed and I think some of this money should be spent on the bedrooms. So sad. Living off its past glory.

Great restaurant with generous portions of well cooked and presented food. We had Chicken wings ,Cheesy Garlic bread and liver pate to start - very tasty and plenty to share . Main courses were Trio of seafood - lovely tasty portion of Salmon, Seabass and Hake served with home cooked chips and small side salad . Really lovely ! Also had the large Prawn Salad , so much couldn’t finish the prawns!! Fish and chips were lovely and the breaded chicken portions . Finished off with Ferrar Roche cheesecake and Strawberry Palova - omg simply gorgeous. Overall a lovely meal well worth the money and would recommend as a place to eat.

Disappointed by our meal last week. Feels more like fast food rather than a decent pub dining scene. Mussels were mediocre - small and a lot were not open. Fish/Chips: so so.. chips - felt reheated. Staff are nice but the food could do with a major improvement

This place is in the middle of nowhere, but extremely handy if your playing Tralee golf course. It’s a family business, with the father in essence being front of house and the son working the kitchen. Our food was delicious and the breakfast was grand. Most of the bedrooms are of an average standard but definitely some are close to inhabitable, don’t get stuck with any of them. It’s very cheap and I would absolutely stay there again

We always enjoy returning to good restaurants and as always the west end never disappoints. We had the most beautiful meal with impeccable service . Brian has a high standard and takes pride in his food and is evident as we both had a fabulous meal and evening. Thanks again.

Pre-pandemic…we had booked a table for a family birthday meal but were so badly treated by the surly manageress/waitress that it ruined the occasion for us. We were treated as if even just taking our order was a complete inconvenience to her and it got worse as the evening continued. Which was a pity as the food was tasty and well presented and the view is lovely. Nonetheless, we will never support the business again because of how badly she treated us.

4 adults 3 kids and a 6 week old baby we waited half an hour for a table outdoors. We had been told earlier that it would be a long wait for a table and that was fine when we finally got a table we were told we couldn't be served food because they were too busy. Very very disappointing

My family and I had lunch here. We ordered three starters and one main course with four cokes. The cokes came out in the smallest glasses I’ve ever seen used in an Irish bar and they were already poured out. They were no genuine coke cola! They tasted like cheap brand generic cola. The food was fine however we were charged €67. I enquired about this and was told that the four cokes were 14.00. Shocking and a complete rip off. Won’t be back. Wouldn’t recommend. Things are expensive enough without being plainly ripped off.
