Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great restaurant with generous portions of well cooked and presented food. We had Chicken wings ,Cheesy Garlic bread and liver pate to start - very tasty and plenty to share . Main courses were Trio of seafood - lovely tasty portion of Salmon, Seabass and...Hake served with home cooked chips and small side salad . Really lovely ! Also had the large Prawn Salad , so much couldn’t finish the prawns!! Fish and chips were lovely and the breaded chicken portions . Finished off with Ferrar Roche cheesecake and Strawberry Palova - omg simply gorgeous. Overall a lovely meal well worth the money and would recommend as a place to eat.More

Went for dinner having looked at the menu online. However , the menu we were given on arrival did not match the prices online. Considerably more expensive! Two of us ordered the crab bake. It came in a small pan with a huge portion of...chips and salad but no vegetables. We asked could we swap the salad for a portion of vegetables and we’re told yes, they had mushrooms and onions - hardly veg which you would earn with a fish dish! The crab bake consisted of a lot of sauce, topped with bread crumbs but very little crabmeat! On receiving the bill we noticed we were charged extra for the vegetables even though they were a substitute for the salad. Subsequently the Manager struck off this charge. When we commented on the lack of crabmeat we were told this reflected the high price of crabmeat in the market. We let it be known that we were dissatisfied with the meal and left. We won’t be back!More

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. We had a lovely room with spacious en suite and great views. It is located over bar and restaurant and can thoroughly recommend their food. There was a great atmosphere in...the bar each night and we will certainly be backMore

We ate here for Sunday lunch - a delicious seafood chowder,as a starter (accompanied by some top home made soda bread), with the seafood special of the day, which was a trio of salmon, hake and sea bass in a white wine sauce, with gorgeous mashed potato on...the side,as a main. Truly yummy - my mouth is watering just thinking about it now ....More

Looking for an overnight stay for one in a great location. This did not disappoint. Enjoyed a lovely dinner and walk the evening I arrived, and an early sea swim the following morning. Room perfectly clean, comfortable bed. Bring your own shampoo/ shower gel. Staff friendly....A great find 👏.More

A welcoming bar with a restaurant worthy of the name. Local Fish cooked with panache to perfection. Stayed here a week and ate nowhere else! The Guinness Brown bread is so good I cadged some to bring home! The soon to open greenway will be...a magnet for cyclists riding the dozen miles from Tralee to Fenit through glorious Kerry countryside, Our room had a double aspect over the bay with superb views over the trackway to the bay and the lighthouse. Thank you Bryan and all your lovely staff for a relaxing, comfortable and most enjoyable few days.More

It must be said that I paid €50 for this room so wasnt expecting much, just wanted a place to put the head down before I played Tralee golf links the next day. Nice location and some lovely views, room was nice on first impression,no toiletries in...room. Food was nice and was given menu by a lovely girl, Guinness in bar was lovely and lads behind the bar couldn't be nicer. Had to take a phone call and was interrupted by a blonde waitress telling me I had to pay my bill, as if she thought I was going to do a runner!!Even though I was staying there !! Went to bed and room was very cold, even though I stayed in May, tried to put on heater which was left in room ,but that was a fire hazard! Bed like a rock ,duvet and pillows the cheapest of the cheap, couldn't sleep a wink, was contemplating going out to sleep in my car it was that bad. Couldn't wait to go down for breakfast in morning and get out of there. Lady serving breakfast was lovely and breakfast was grand. All in all most of the staff very great but the rooms could definitely be improved on, food spot on but a bit pricey.More

What a lovely spot for dinner! We were staying down the road during vacay and it was suggested by the owners at the home we rented. Everything was great, the fish dishes, they were so fresh! I told them it was my sisters birthday and...they made a yummy plate of several desserts and came out singing ! Such attention to detail. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.More

Sleepy Sunday lunch for she who must be obeyed and I. The service is excellent to a fault. The food is soo soo good. I had the cold fish platter which at first glance for 28 euro seems a bit expensive. But the portion on...an oversized slab is worth every bit of it . A Treat !! My partner had the sea bass which I'm assured was fantastic. You are just about left enough room for desert . The missus wanted sticky toffee pudding which she loved. Unfortunately I couldn't decide between two . The cheese cake and the Baily's ice cream. So The waitress brought me 50/50 on the plate. Now that's customer service !! This is a must visitMore

Pre-pandemic…we had booked a table for a family birthday meal but were so badly treated by the surly manageress/waitress that it ruined the occasion for us. We were treated as if even just taking our order was a complete inconvenience to her and it got...worse as the evening continued. Which was a pity as the food was tasty and well presented and the view is lovely. Nonetheless, we will never support the business again because of how badly she treated us.More

This place is in the middle of nowhere, but extremely handy if your playing Tralee golf course. It’s a family business, with the father in essence being front of house and the son working the kitchen. Our food was delicious and the breakfast was grand....Most of the bedrooms are of an average standard but definitely some are close to inhabitable, don’t get stuck with any of them. It’s very cheap and I would absolutely stay there againMore

Desserts were gorgeous. Lovely staff who...were great with the kids. It was so nice we booked again for tomorrow night.More
