The owners did so much to put us at ease so we could enjoy a grown up meal with two young kids... Ideally go here for a romantic adult meal (we have before) it has the atmosphere that you want to relax and enjoy. On this occasion I was initially worried about the other patrons but my kids are well-mannered... More

The Broad Axe Lodge in Sula, Montana is open Friday through Sunday for dinner. There is a limited but decent wine and beer selection and the steaks and prime rib are outstanding. The friendly staff and beautiful views are bonuses. Where else can one eat dinner and watch big horn sheep graze on the mountainside.

The food was fresh and beautifully prepared. We had the salmon. It was really delicious. With a child that was barely 8 we were glad to find a children's menu. The service was friendly and timely. We saw elk and big horn sheep in this beautiful setting.

Only open on weekends and you should have reservations. A small out of the way place, to say the least. Have never see a place that had a lawn sprinkler running on the roof, but saw it here. Purpose is to keep dining room cool and it works. They have a limited menu which is understandable given its size. Also... More

Quiet, small, family owned for 30+ years. Simple menu, delicious food, fresh salad bar with homebaked bread. Excellent quality & service. If it is your birthday, you may get serenaded! And yes, the raspberry meringue dessert is so delicious. 5 miles up the East Fork Valley of the Bitterroot River. Excellent road and great access. Binoculars on the table let... More

A wonderful drive in the country, with a nice atmosphere. Sit at glass walls and watch for big horn sheep on the mountainside. Binoculars are on every table. Highly recommended as a place to take visitors to Big Sky Country. The food is good enough, tries hard to be fancy but is just adequate. This shouldn't deter your visit, as... More
