We went here one night to celebrate a birthday. It's in the middle of a neighborhood on a corner. When we walked in, I was surprised to see a fairly large, empty, open room with a bar. We were greeted and showed to our table which was in another room. This room was the main dining room and every table... More

So refreshing to be offered a menu that was not composed of the usual items -everything was very original and stimulating and delicious. Despite which, one of us plumped for his usual steak and that was good too. Our waiter did badger our one picky eater a little too long to have some sauces or veggies on his plate, but... More

We went for dinner on a Tuesday night. The restaurant was quiet and the atmosphere was pleasant, as in not too loud. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time and had a glass of sparkling wine at the bar. The bartender was terrific and told us quite a bit about the menu. The pace was a little slow... I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and had a good dinner. Each plate we had was tasty, but don't expect to get full. The portions are small but the presentation and flavor is excellent. This is a great restaurant for special occasions or if you want to show off St. Louis' culinary potential.

Early reservation because of theatre tickets. Evening began with a extra warm staff welcome and continued with fine service from Sarah. She sensed we had a time issue, but delivered great service in an appropriate manner. Had a half bottle of the Steele Pinot, which I do not recommend. Glass of James Mitchell Cab, much better. For dinner, Scallops and... More

Even though I live within easy walking distance, I haven't been to this lovely restaurant in a couple years. Silly me. From the moment I arrived, the service was spot on, folks are so genuine, they are there when you need them, and are great at figuring out when you don't. I met a colleague for dinner, our waiter, Rich,... More

We decided to try Sidney Street for our anniversary dinner. Looked at the appetizer board, the menu, and other tables, and found lots of things that looked interesting and delicious. We decided on the chef's tasting. We ended up getting several things that we would have avoided out of fear…and the adventure was really outstanding. The highlights were the veal... More

We were in town for an annual meeting and just needed a break in the action. This was just the spot. It was tucked in a neighborhood and the food was simply awesome!!!! Authentic, homemade goodness with a flair!!!!! If you get a chance, put this one on your list- it is a break from the usual.

Business dinner at Sydney street. Service was excellent. We tried the lobster turnovers, octopus and house made charcuterie as starters followed by the main course. The starters we excellent but I found the octopus serving very small for the price. A piece of tentacle about 3" long. The Lobster Turnovers were awesome. For my main course I had the rabbit... We enjoyed our meal here. Everything was well-prepared and delicious. I especially liked the appetizer trio. We both had filets, but prepared differently. They arrived quickly and perfectly done (medium-rare). Our waitress was efficient, but not neat or personable. The restaurant would be much more attractive if they could afford to replace the very dingy ceiling tiles with something like... More
