Friendly, neighborhood feeling, great service, and live music. The usual pub/bar feel but with a local flair.

The food is good. The service is attentive. They have sports on TV. What else could you ask for. The menu is a little bit Cajun but mostly American. They have a daily special which is always good. They also have shuttle service to Busch Stadium, Savis Center, and Fairmont Race Track on Horse Hooky Tuesdays. Check it out.

Decided to get lunch here as I remembered they had southern-type foods. The first thing that struck me was an odd smell, like cleanser, and it basically bothered my husband and I the entire meal. Our food was excellent - I had a crabcake blt, and the service was excellent. But the atmosphere was really not very pleasant, with that... More

We didn't eat here but had a few drinks. Very fast and friendly service. The band was great, not too loud and drew a crowd of all ages. You can get up and dance. Not cover charge, not sure of other night though.

Every time we go to St. Louis, we go to the 1860. We've never eaten there because we go for the live music - which they have 7 nights a week. The staff is always great and we always hear good bands and have a great time. It's in the Soulard district, which is a must if you're in St.... More

This is a review for the Game Room addition only: Awesome! When I heard about the Game Room, I didn't know what to expect. I was hoping for a video arcade; no such luck. Instead pool tables, dartboards, shuffleboard, and Golden Tee all placed in strategic locations around the room fill the bar with friendly competition. You might have to... More

My husband and I dined here with our sister and brother-in-law this past weekend. Each couple ordered a half dozen raw oysters to split. They were great! They were a little expensive but most raw oysters in St. Louis are not cheap! Three of us ordered the Cajun sampler which had red beans and rice, gumbo, and jambalaya served with... More

Just like the title says, I really love this place but more as a local than a tourist. I was a regular here for years. The restaurant is a lot more roomy if you go to eat and the food is ok. Don't expect Gordon Ramsey to serve you any culinary delights, the menu is pretty plain for what it... More

The Hard Shell Cafe was recommend to us by the front desk clerk at our hotel. The hour was late when we arrived in town and our options were limited, so we took the suggestion. We found the restaurant to have a strong bar-like atmosphere with loud, in-your-face decor. That didn't really bother us; it gave us a lot to... More

We had oysters, buffalo chicken wrap, fried chicken, and a seafood plate (can't remember what exactly that one was) on a Sunday evening. The food was great, the beer was cold, and it was nice to have music coming in from the bar side but not be bombarded by it on the cafe side. We could actually have a conversation... More
