32 years on Euclid Ave. and long time before that in the heart of downtown St. Louis, egg creams, pastrami and halva are now gone to the land of memory, levaing a golden legend and a currently empty building.

I drove to Kopperman's to have deli food. I parked the car and read the sign on the door: CLOSED AFTER 32 YEARS.

This was a great place they just got lost in the choices of the Central West End. They had phenomenal French toast and a great Slinger. The new owners have it a go for the past two years but it just didn't make it.

Had breakfast/lunch there. The menu looks extensive, but I ordered something fairly simple, but it was a long wait. They do not soak their matzos in the matzo eggs long enough and you can see and chew the matzo pieces. My server was fine. The bathroom was scary--you have to go down a dank flight of stairs and pass curtained... More

This was the closest restaurant to the Chase Park Plaza that opened early for full breakfast (6am weekdays). They have a huge, overwhelming menu. The service was great (I was the only person there at the time) and the food was good. Clearly a good place go to after the bars close or before work. The host greeted me with,... More

When in St. Louis, probably 10 times a year, breakfast at Kopperman's is required. I have noticed some recent differences, but I was not aware the ownership had changed. This quaint Jewish Deli is delightful in food, service and setting. The food is still outstanding. Some of the wait staff have been there for decades and are excellent. The cook... More

Wanted a good Jewish Deli for breakfast. I had a reasonably good omelette with cheddar, mushroom and matzo crackers (which were soggy, no surprise in an omelette). The hash browns were icky, not crispy, and the potato pancake was the same. The lox and bagels were good, as they should have been. Out of grapefruit juice yesterday. The chopped liver... More

Stopped in for breakfast and was glad I did. Had the Corned Beef Hash and would highly recommend it. Has the feel of a real neighborhood deli and it is.

I saw this listed on RFTs best sandwich list so I had to try it. Host seating and table service. Friendly staff. Opted for the double meat corned beef sandwich on rye (half sandwich). I ate half the meat with fork and knife, then devoured the sandwich. Awesome. Can't wait to go back.
