From the moment we walked in I could tell this was a unique place! Piano player, decor, professionally dressed staff, all amazing! Now to the food, the menu is a blend of unique and amazing...and the staff is celiac/gluten free knowledgeable!! Try the chicken, the spinach salad, the filet...heck everything!! The staff was amazing too. If I lived here this... More

We went on a Friday night -- just having a drink and sampling the different bands and bars. We would have been happy to stand and listen but the wait staff was incredibly rude and made it clear we were in their way. So we left.

The jazz was great! I can't say enough about the experience, The quality of the musicians, the variety, guest musicians, guest singers This is what a Jazz club should be. The food... the steak soup otherwise known as gravy any were else in the world "where's the mashed potatoes" Great comfort food, good thing there was bread on the table... More

We were seated promptly at the time of our reservation and our server was prompt in getting to us and helpful with the menu. We were seated downstairs in front of the jazz trio and thought the atmosphere and low noise level were great. Our steaks were very good and we thought we received good value.

I had a few drinks at the upstairs bar and then went downstairs for dinner and music. The wait staff downstairs was much friendlier and the overall atmosphere was much better. The food was perfect and my only regret was that I didn't have money on me to tip the band. In a restaurant of this caliber, it would be... More

The historical atmosphere with jazz downstairs and a cigar bar upstairs made for a great night! Server Cap made the experience even better with great explanations of food and how best to order to get the best steak! One of the best steaks ever!!!! Very fun place to dine ! It is a tad pricey but we split the steaks... More

I came here because of my reviews and it was a steakhouse. I was disappointed on both marks. I had the 12 ounce waygu strip and I had about 5 ounces of gristle. The manager did make a partial adjustment but the disappointment was done. Lots of other KC restaurants to try before I ever come back here.

It had been a while since I had dined at the Majestic (probably since previous ownership) but thought I would give it a go since their lunch menu looked good for Restaurant Week. Glad I did. The steak soup was the perfect starter and the salmon with shrimp and grits was nothing short of incredible. My waiter was perfect and... More

Waited for our seats at the bar. Had some great drinks and conversation with the bar tender. Had supper downstairs and listened to some live jazz. The food was very good and the price was as expected. Highly recommend!

We went for KC Restaurant Week. It was our first visit to what is talked about as a KC staple. The building is registered as an historic landmark. The look is very much like a saloon from the '20s. It is not a stuffy place, but one feels like they should at least wear a collared shirt and slacks. The... More

The Majestic Restaurant carries on the Kansas City traditions of great food and great jazz. We serve brunch Saturday and Sunday, lunch Monday-Friday, and dinner seven nights a week. Featuring Kansas City's best dry-aged beef, chops, and seafood and located in the historic Fitzpatrick Saloon building at 10th and Broadway in downtown Kansas City, The Majestic Restaurant offers a true Kansas City dining experience like no other. Enjoy a great steak and fine wine in our main dining room alongside a grand bar dating back to 1910, or have dinner in our lower level jazz club, the site of an actual speakeasy during prohibition, all while listening to some of Kansas City's best jazz musicians seven nights a week. An extensive wine list, creative cocktails by nationally renowned bartender Shawn Moriarty, a list of over 100 whiskeys, and a sinful selection of delectable homemade desserts provide the perfect accompaniment to the meal and the music.
