We were in KC for a wedding on a chilly February weekend. Driving up from STL we perused TripAdvisor for restaurant ideas. We saw some favorites, but wanted to try a new place. Then we saw the positive reviews for The Rieger and though we'd give it a go! My gal and I made reservations, which was a great idea!... More

You don't need a password, but you need to know where to look for the basement, speakeasy-style bar, one of the best in KC. Go all the way to the very rear and look for the door on the left, where a greeter will show you downstairs. And you'll have to duck low as you go down the steps. But... More

This was the 2nd visit to this restaurant for my wife and I. Our first visit we thought the experience overall was OK, nothing remarkable. We chose to eat here on the 2nd occasion because we were going to a performance at the Music Hall and we wanted to eat somewhere close to that venue. With both experiences we thought... More

We had never been to the Rieger and went based upon a recommendation. The historic hotel has been carefully restored; nicely blending the new with the old. The food, cocktails and service were excellent. The menu offers a wide variety and some really innovated creations. What's not to like? Thanks for a great meal and experience.

This a old fashion feeling restaurant brings back feel of old upscale restaurant. Small , quaint but keeps the hip feel. Beautiful open kitchen to watch all prep. The food was delicious . Scallops and KC Strip beyond compare. Artisan cocktails. Mixology definitely part of the atmosphere.

With great impression of Manifesto and Rieger on our first visit last year I decided to return with initial reservation at the "manifesto" (basement bar) followed up with dinner upstairs in the Rieger. The Manifesto was great with it's custom drink menu (try Thunder on the Mountain) and atmosphere. Going up to the Rieger left us not wanting to return... More

Hip atmosphere and cool set up. Cocktails were well-made, and they have a nice wine selection. Staff was professional and knowledgeable. Menu was creative and edgy, but the food just seemed very bland.

Good atmosphere and great drinks. The pork soup has a layer on top similar to French onion. It seared pig skin. Yum. The stew is quite good, but it appeared and tasted of organ meat. My guess is people don't actually know that they are paying serious coin to eat the stuff they put in cat food. It averaged out... More

All of the food that I tasted was out of this world! The buffalo sausage made me want to find more buffaloes to eat. The service was amazing. The prices are a tad steep, but the food, dessert, and drinks are worth it.

I never know where my daughter will take me for my birthday - well, this year it was at Rieger's. The atmosphere was really neat, reminded me of a pub. The waitress, I believe her name was KC was fantastic. She explained several items to us, always very friendly and attentive. I chose the smoked bison short ribs, OMG!!!! words... More
