To be honest, I was not expecting to have some of the best pasta I have had in years, and I love Italian food. House-made pasta noodles were excellent and the sauce perfect. YUM! I only wish they had a full-bar license - after a day of wine tasting was looking for a change of pace. Our server was so... More

Fantastic food and service; and beautiful ambience. Be sure to try the fried brussel sprouts! They were DELICIOUS. Everyone in my group LOVED their meal.

We visited for our 23rd anniversary dinner. Our server was very accommodating, atmosphere was dimly lit & cozy and all staff was very welcoming, great food & friendly, however, rather loud with with conversations....sit close.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner on a Friday night here. You have GOT to try the Lobster Chowder and the Maple Bacon brussel sprouts.

Lovely pasta dinner. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Pasta is house made and hand cut. Carbonara was fabulous.

We ate at the Black Walnut Bistro with two other couples. We made reservations and were seated upon arrival. Our waitress was great. The food was delicious. I had the shrimp fettucine pasta. It was very good. It is one of the best meals we have had in Herman and we have been going to Oktoberfest for years.

Very good restaurant. All entrees are made to order. My husband had the bacon wrapped steak medallions and I had the chicken florentine with a garlic olive oil sauce instead of a cream sauce. Both were excellent! Restaurant is in the heart of the activity in Hermann. Nice meal for any special occasion.

We liked this restaurant as well as any in Hermann. We are not real "heavy" eaters so a lot of the German style food in the area does not appeal to us. This restaurant gave us the opportunity to eat a little lighter! We enjoyed the chicken pasta dish we shared and excellent house salads. We enjoyed some local wines.... More
