Our friends from Brackley suggested we all had lunch at the Red Lion where we had previously enjoyed Sunday lunch, The pub had a warm relaxed environment with cosy dining rooms. The menu was varied and interesting, a bit of effort has gone into it's excellent choice of meals. The food was fresh cooked very tasty and plentiful, the ingredients... More

Joined relatives for a Sunday lunch at this pub, with an excellent atmosphere, menu and great surrounds. Departing from my companions choice of the traditional roast beef and yorkshire pudding, I opted for the TAT burger a vegetarian option, made up of crumbed portabello mushrooms, substituting for the usual meat burger. This was most enjoyable served with very crunchy chips.... More

Visited with friends for Sunday lunch. Great location with a lovely village green. Interesting "nick nacks" and lots of local items and information. It is like an informative antique shop. Good selection of real ales. The food was "genuine and honest" a good plate of traditional roast dinner with few frills. Not the best of meats but nevertheless value for... More

We have returned for our 4th visit and this time was the first for dinner. On the basis of what we experienced I would be unlikely to give the full 5 stars, but this pub deserves a far higher overall rating than it has on TripAdvisor. AMBIENCE: The pub was lively and bustling (it was Friday night). Every table was... More

We thought the service was extremely slow, we didn't have dessert as the waitress just ignored us! The roast dinner was just ok, not that hot, mine arrived much later than the others, not sure about the lashings of black Gravy tasted odd, Yorkshire pudding burnt......other dishes looked nice, wish I had the scampi and chips! Would go back but... More

The Red Lion is a great pub with friendly staff and querky artifacts from yesterday year adding to the atmosphere. The food is excellent, well presented, hot and very tasty - and we left clean plates which says it all. The beer garden to the side offers a gazebo and feature alfresco seating which is ideal whether in day time... More

The food is very good, quality wholesome and tasty. It is a traditional local pub with a great chef. The restaurant can be invaded with people standing at the bar when the place is busy. A lovely village location.

Had a lovely early evening meal with a range of classic English pub food. Great service and a nice outside play area for the kids. i can highly recommend the Evenly schnitzel. A slightly unusual take on cordon bleu but totally worth it.

The Red Lion is a great find. We recently moved to the area from Bicester and have been looking around for good pubs for lunch, dinner etc. This is a very friendly and cosy pub that is very well presented. The food menu is fairly extensive and is all really well cooked and presented. Very much regular pub food taken... More

Have only been here a couple of times but both times the food and service have been excellent. Our friends held a christening party here and the bbq food was amazing. Also great selection of drinks on offer :-)
