My family and I were traveling into Oxford, MS fairly late and needed to make some dinner plans. We checked the website and learned that Taylor Grocery stayed open until 10pm so that was our choice. We arrived at 9:00 and were greeted coldly by a hostess that was apparently ready to go home. However, our server was very friendly... More

Great food but a long wait for a table. I recommend going after 8 if you do not want to wait over an hour for a table. The gumbo was one of the best I have had. Catfish was also one of the best I have had.

The ambiance of Taylor Grocery is unique with graffiti on the walls. They often have live music to add to the laid back, ramshackle approach. The service is excellent with everyone very friendly, making one feel at home. The fried catfish is out of this world.

Short wait, excellent food and service, BUT stay clear of the over weight owner's daughter--she'll a real "B". Ruined the entire meal.

Really amazing atmosphere. Quaint small town, and wonderful hush puppies. I'd go for the hush puppies alone. The grilled catfish is good but very salty. Don't go here on a diet- but the "side" salad is quite large! Make sure your WHOLE party is there before you ask to be seated. Go for the wait, and enjoy the time with... More

No reservations accepted, but worth the wait. Just a short drive down from Oxford. One of my absolute favorites.

The name come from the town. Taylor is a tiny neighboring town of Oxford. Plan on waiting. There are many reviews saying the long wait is worth the experience. We were told on arrival that our wait would be a bit over two hours, and it was. Worth it? It is not. It’s fried catfish, y’all. Fried catfish with fried... More

Well, it is a requirement to go there at some time during and after your 6 years at Ole Miss. Well I was there after 25 years . I was disappointed in the catfish. Small portions and too much breading. And on another note, i would have liked to have bought tee-shirt but the quality of those were cheap looking.... More

Although we waited over two hours to get a table, it was so worth the wait! The fried catfish is amazing! You have to go! Drinks are allowed in the parking lot outside, as long as they are in a container. Bring your lawn chairs, a cooler, and some music, and make friends with the others who are waiting.

Visited Taylor Grocery with a party of 11 during one of the biggest football weekends at Ole Miss so the wait was loooong, but worth it. Bring your lawn chairs and a cooler of drinks and just enjoy the Mississippi country. Our wait was over two hours but so was everybody else's. We had the fried catfish. You get plenty... More
