I lived here over a year before I went to Phil's Tara...then I went 3 nights in a row LOL so cozy with the fireplace and log cabin feel, but when I see lamb chops on the menu Im all in and these were PERFECT! Then the pork tenderloin OMG! then a night of just appetizers with their signature Greek... More

The worst part of this restaurant is no reservations. Last time I was there I had the prime rib special and it was better than the best steak house I've been to. Reasonable prices, great specials. Wine list is limited.

I typically don't review local places I visit, usually only reviewing places we explore on vacation. However, this host was so incredibly dismissive and rude that I have to make an exception. Who knows what the food tasted like - we never got that far. I can't imagine what could possibly keep him employed - must be either the owner... More

Went there August 2016 for a birthday meal. It is a nice facility with decent service but our meals were a mixed bag. One meal was a trout dinner which was very good but the other was scallops and they were not cooked properly. They were overdone and the texture was not correct. I realize scallops are a tricky item... More

Lively spot with a great northwoods feel. Food is outstanding with many greek oriented dishes but superb American steaks, chops etc. Casual and not stuffy in the least. A bit loud at times but it adds to the "feel" of the joint ! Highly recommended !

We had a group of four couples for dinner on a Thursday night. The food was very good, and the service attentive, but not overbearing. This is a quaint log cabin motif with a central bar. Not gourmet, but very good, with generous portions. We'll be back

My husband and I had dinner here at the recommendation of a hotel clerk. The atmosphere was pleasant and food was excellent. I like the idea that it is not a "chain" restaurant and the log cabin interior gave the restaurant a nice rustic feel. I had a chicken dish and my husband had a steak, which were both wonderful.... Phil's Tara Hideaway was recommended as a great place for our 30th anniversary. The food was excellent as was the log cabin interior. Knowing the tables are closely spaced in advance helped. The service was terrific. We were glad we'd made this choice!

Stopped in for the first time last weekend. I ordered the Texas Sirloin Tri-Tip.... phenomenal! I didn't care much to sit in the front area by the window but the dinner helped me overlook that.

We were celebrating my husband's 40th Birthday. We chose Phil's Tara Hideaway for the intimate setting. This place is always packed for good reason. We were able to grab a drink at the bar while we waited. We were seated within 15 minutes. Great service and meal. I like the supper club feel and wish more places were like this.
