The three of us stopped in for lunch on Saturday afternoon and were seated and served promptly and courteously. This is a great neighborhood spot with a bar side and more of a 'restaurant side', so you can choose if you want to sit in more of a bar scene or a casual restaurant type environment. They have numerous TVs... More

Amazing burger, the lunch special! Cheeseburger and fries for $7! The burger had amazing flavor and the fries were so awesome! Amanda was our server and was the sweetest ever. Great service and a friendly atmosphere. Will definitely return!

Returned here after 6 months and have a strong suggestion: stick to award-winning burgers and fish sandwich. Avoid lobster sandwich, which I tried. It was $16! Pricey but I wanted to try it. Yes, there were several pieces of lobster and it tasted good. But I think $16 is too much (and fries were $2 more). Suggest sticking with burgers... More

If you weren't looking for Halftime Rec you'd probably drive by everyday and wonder what was inside. Well once you find the door you'll be transported back the the 70's, and in the menu you'll find your traditional Irish bar fare and some nice surprises like the Cheesy Lobster Cauliflower Dip, Killer Burgers, Fish and Chips and other rib sticking... Halftime Rec won a Twin Cities wide burger contest. I can see why. Had the Paddy Shack burger (burger, lettuce, pickled green tomato, onion, and sauce. YUMMY! Another one of us had the Patty melt. Also great. There are a variety of Irish classics & hot dogs. Prices mostly $4-10. REALLY Good. This place is not fancy but it is... More

This has possibly become my favorite dive bar. Do not bring a date or friends here if looking to impress them. However, if you want good fish and chips and a solid beer and acceptable prices, this may be your place.

I had the bangers and mash. Bangers were great, but the mash tasted like they were powdered potatoes.

I adore this bar. Can't event count how many times I have been here. The staff are always welcoming and quick to serve. The bar was recently redone and serves amazing food. There is boccie ball in the basement. They also have live music some nights. It is a need to experience once in your life time kind of bar.... More

Wow. What a nice review! Thanks so much for taking the time to write it. We appreciate all feedback, but to hear from a customer that has come in many times is really cool. I'm glad you think the food is "amazing", however it's really great to hear that our staff has been welcoming! We try to create a fun,... More

This is a great spot to grab a good beer and eat some amazing food. The food is amazing across the board, you are getting 5 star food with dive bar prices. They have a good beer selection too with some craft and local beers on tap, and it was perfectly cold. The curry chicken wings are some of the... More

We were so glad you stopped in when in town. Thanks for the nice review; that kind of positive feedback really helps us build our business! I'm glad you enjoyed the Curry Wings...they are excellent (we agree). Winning the Twin Cities Burger Battle in our first year serving food at The Half Time Rec has helped us get noticed, but... If I was a trip adviser my recommendation for Twin Cities residents and those visiting here is to stop at Half Time Rec/Paddy Shack as its awesome. It's your quintessential neighborhood corner bar with food that's 5 stars, owner and host Steve Mars makes sure the service is spectacular and he's very accommodating. There's a reason Paddy Shack won the... More

Thank you for the very kind words! Teresa and I really enjoyed serving you and your group; maybe next time you are in Scott and Tracy will get the pleasure. We are small family business owners who really appreciate feedback. Spread the word if you can...as a neighborhood bar, the Half Time Rec was built on regular customers and then... More
