The most amazing beer menu I have ever seen, and organized in a way that lets you drill down quickly to the brew that suits your taste (malty, hoppy, light, dark, different, etc.). Many are truly unique offerings from local brewers. Travelling from N. California,...More

We had a group Sunday brunch experience and it was excellent. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and the beer selection is outstanding. The Bloody Mary bar is a also a real treat. This is all tucked into a beautiful old St. Paul...More

4 girl friends met for dinner at Happy Gnome at 6:30 pm. We had reservations, otherwise I anticipate that we would have had a long wait. The bar was hopping and every table in the dining room was occupied. Fortunately, the noise level in the...More

We showed up for Sunday brunch just as the doors opened at 10:00 and there was a bit of a crowd but everyone got seated rather quickly. I ordered the pancakes and my wife got eggs benedict. We were both very impressed and happy with...More

These guys have the biggest selection of high end craft beers in the twin cities, but they pair it with really awesome gastro pub food and a charming pub environment. How dare they! I drop more $ here than I plan every time I visit...More

Possibly the best burger in the Twin Cities! Cheese burger with short rib meat on top was delicious. Rivals the Blue Door Pub and the Red Cow for top burger. Hand cut fries accompanied the burger. There are so many interesting choices on the menu,...More

Went in for a late lunch, sat at the bar. Vast numbers of beers, though many from same MN brands. I have a pint of a German beer. I had the Buffalo Bacon Chicken Sandwich. It was served on thick toast, which I found refreshing....More

The weather was great and the patio in back was really nice to eat in. The bar also looked nice and big, so that option would have been good too. My daughter had the pho and liked it quite a bit. I had the dry...More

Always greeted by surly hosts who make it plain they are not happy to see you. Wait staff is good, but hosts need a lesson in hospitality. We live within two blocks, but the Surly Gnome is always our last choice.
