I stop solo for lunches and on occasion have taken curious friends that have never tried Ethiopian cuisine. The food is great. I've yet to have a bad meal and if you order a sample platter be prepared for a bunch of food it's quite big. Service at times has been slow if it's a full house but not too... More

Fasika is a gem in so many ways. The food is tasty, tasty, tasty -- full of flavor and spiced just right for the moderately-adventurous Minnesotan diner. Platters are indeed the best way to go, and the veggie sampler is a must. Great selection of flavors, textures and spices, and it's a beautiful dish to boot. We also chose the... More

We've come here a number of times while visiting the Cities. We usually get the combination platters. One vegetarian sampler and one meat sampler is *plenty* for two hungry people -- and you'll have leftovers! Service is friendly, it sometimes gets crowded. Tip: come right after they open and you'll likely have an easy time finding a table. Also, during... More

I came here because I love Ethiopian food and I was heading to a show at Turf Club... I ordered chicken samosas (which were entirely forgettable) and the lamb sampler plate. I am by no means an expert on injera; however, mine seemed too moist - but it did the trick, and all three lamb choices were so good that... More

My wife and I went to Fasika's last weekend. While I am admittedly not the biggest fan of Ethiopian cuisine my wife absolutely love it. Well, to my surprise Fasika's lived up to the fine reviews that people have provided. We did a vegetarian dish and had the beef Tibs. The food was really good. I am even going to... More

Great food. Doro wat and the chicken combination plate was delicious. Very crowded for a Monday night... proving that the food is probably the best Ethiopian food in the Twin Cities

I live in the neighborhood and have eaten here several times. I brought some colleagues here, one of whom had never eaten Ethiopian food. BTW, I take issue with some reviews here, as they are negative because they didn't like the very basics of the cuisine (like injera). Just because you don't like it (not the same as it tasting... First time for ethiopian food and I would much rather have Indian. Don't at all like their Injera. It is a bread that is very spongy with a lemon tangy taste. Much prefer Nam. Had their Lamb tips and they were very tough and grisly. My wife had catfish dish which was tasty but too spicy for her.

We ordered the beef sampler platter and vegetarian sampler platter. Both were good and gave us many items to try. Some favorites were the Alcha Wot (#2) on the beef platter and the Gomen, Shiro Wot, and Atkilt. No silverware so I would ask for a fork next time. I didn't like the Injera. It just wasn't my thing. Spongy,... More

The food here is fabulous, but do not go if you want to be in and out in less than two hours. If you want a place where you can relax and are not rushed, you will be fine, but don't go when you're starving either since the food takes a long time to come to your table. It's worth... More
