Good food, reasonable prices - service is usually good. Convinent location. Have a good list of daily specials

We stopped by here about 11:30 am on a Sunday. There was only one other person in the bar. We sat down and waited 5 full minutes for the bartender to stop doing what he was doing (a crossword puzzle in the paper or the funnies, we couldn't quite tell) to come help us. We ordered bloody mary's and before... More

This place has been around for years and seems to be headed down hill quickly. The waiter was more interested in chatting with his friend in the other room, the cook seemed more interested in hitting on a guest and the food was horrible. In about a year this would be a great restaurant for Gordon Ramsay to "turn around".... More

Stayed overnight Saturday night and nice to be able to walk up town. Enjoyed playing Bingo at the VFW, but then made the mistake of going across the street to eat afterwards at J. Grundy's. Prices were spendy, regular tap beer was $4.50, my husband's burger basket was terrible with the meat only half-cooked and my Signature Rueben (which they're... More

My sister and I went on a short road trip, we visited the Jesse James museum and went to J. Grundy's Rueb 'N' Stein for a bloody Mary's and lunch. The service was excellent! The food was excellent! Chicken wings were delicious! The bloodys were fantastic! My sister is physically disabled and wheelchair bound. The staff made sure she got... More

This place looks like Archie Bunker would be a regular customer, good brews and good food. Lots of seating, booths, tables and the bar. Fast service. Did I mention good BURGERS & FRIES? Well, I'll say it again! The place is always busy, but never too busy to quickly take your order. Who knows, you might run into your fellow... More

Dined here on Saturday of " Defeat of Jessie James Days", rather than the street fair food. Enjoyed a sandwich and beer that were delicious and served promptly by a courteous staff. Will definitely dine here again.

This place is convenient to the Magic Door B&B where we stayed. We walked there and enjoyed a fairly decent meal for a good price. It was happy hour so we enjoyed 1/2 priced beers and soda. I ordered the burger of the day, which happened to be the Grundy burger with fries. The price was ridiculously favorable! $5.50. We... More

I was traveling recently with a group of 9 friends and we passed thru Northfield during lunch time. A local citizen on the street recommended Rueb n Stein as a place to find a variety of sandwiches and salads. We were not disappointed. We were seated quickly and the service was fast and good. The menu was good as was... More

Typical college town bar with pretty decent food. Good burgers and they have a daily lunch special burger that is a decent bargain
