A nice cheap dinner place depending on your choice of protein. Perfect for a rainy fall or winter day when you want to warm up. Soups are real the star at Camdi--the Bun Bo Hue and the Tom Yum are must tries if you can handle spice! The Curry soup is a bit more mild if you want a delicious... More

I had the lunch special (#19) and it was excellent. Grilled chicken and grilled beef with house fried rice and meat egg roll. Not overly greasy or cookie cutter Americanized versions. Quality you would expect in an upscale Chinese restaurant but in a low-key, affordable setting in Dinkytown. Expected to get the same American versions of Chinese dishes but was... More

Wanted to like this place has been and is family owned and operated. But my food (egg rolls and curry chicken) was only ok. Service was friendly, prices ok but not really low (curry chicken and rice was $8.95) The room is pleasant, perhaps 15 tables of various sizes. Walls have various pictures. There are so many places offering this... More

The Pho is excellent, and the specials are ok. The owner is very friendly and you won't wait long for your food. This is a real "family" place -- not the customers (the usual Dinkytown crowd) but the overall atmosphere. It is amazing that it has stayed almost exactly the same for over 25 years when everything else is becoming... More

I really want to like Camdi; it's close to the U and I really like authentic Chinese and Vietnamese foods. Unfortunately, the food just doesn't live up to my quality standards. First of all, I judge Vietnamese restaurants by their egg rolls (a really good egg roll is an excellent sign that I am going to like the rest of... More

Try their luncheon noodle salad. Several feature ingredients are available. I chose the fried tofu. Astonishingly well-balanced flavor!

I have gone to Camdi's many times and have had just about everything on the vegan portion of the menu at least once. Almost everything I had was excellent. While the vegan menu is small, it has a good variety of flavors. I especially enjoy the vegan "cream cheese" wontons. The one thing that isn't good are the vegan dumplings.... More

I wasn't too sure of this place from the storefront. The restaurant looks less than impressive, and the interior decor needs some work. But....GREAT food! Awesome menu with great pho, and there is a vegan/vegetarian menu available as well. Healthy food, no wait times, and very nice waiter. Very good prices.

We had dinner here based on a recommendation from a local. I had the spicy prawns that were absolutely delicious. Nicely spiced and perfectly cooked. My only problem is I have to drive around 5 hours to get more. No alcohol but the food is so good you won't care. I suggest not arriving too hungry as everything is made... More

We had lunch here on a rainy late afternoon. It does not have much in the way of ambiance except for the cooks paintings on the walls. However, they make the most wonderful noodle soups with fresh herbs and luscious broth. Our party of 5 had four different options of noodle soup. I had the Thai Chicken Curry, it was... More
