Lunch was wonderful. Had the sausage plate, very nice flavors. Great potato salad. Would also recommend the fried cabbage as a side. Looking forward to my next trip there.

Overall was a good experience! Area could have better lighting since we sat in the back corner. Staff was excellent and helpful with menu. Everyone enjoyed their food! Could maybe have some German music to give it a better vibe and if they did I didn't hear it. Was a good evening!

I have been going to this restaurant for 46 years. The food is always good, authentic and well priced. There is a great variety of imported beer and wine at a good price. Have a drink in the small but delightful bar. This place is full of character and has been part of the local landscape for a long time.

Great German vibe....was in town for work and wanted to get my German fix - this place fit the bill! The walls make you feel like you have traveled across the pond to Germany. The staff was friendly and attentive. I have the Stroganoff which was served over spaetzel - loved it!

My wife and I took our son, daughter and my mother in law down for our son's Birthday. The food was good but about average. Price fair, ambiance a bit dark but very reminiscent of my Germany experience of my youth. I would try again and eat a different dish for variety.

While we had no problems with the wait staff I was not impressed with the food. I had the Jager schnitzel and the veal was tough and chewy instead of nice and tender like veal should be. The sauce was so overwhelming onion that you could not taste the mushrooms or the veal. My wife's dish was also overcome by... More

We stopped for a late lunch on a Friday. Service was excellent and we were treated to some samples of German beer prior to making our selection. Our group had a variety of authentic dishes. The sauerbraten, pork snitzel, red cabbage and potato salad were excellent. The dinner rolls were delicious. The ham balls with sauerkraut and cheese could have... More

First time visit. Food was good. Not sure I'd choose this again though. Not so impressive of a place to celebrate a birthday. Asked for nice table online when making a reservation but this was ignored and likely not even seen.

After visiting the special exhibit on Martin Luther and the German Reformation at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, we looked for some German food -- the Black Forest Inn is just a couple of blocks away. I decided to try the Deutschburger casserole (Spaezle with a bit of ground beef on top, covered with cheese. Good, but spaezle is a bit... More

Had dinner here in late October and had a very nice meal. Ham and sauerkraut balls were yummy! Good side dishes too.
