I've been coming here since the Joey D's days and must say that the Italian beef sandwich is perfectly done. Get it with hot peppers and mozzarella. You'll be full the rest of the day. While I liked the charm of the old decor, the renovation looks great. Staff has always been friendly.

We had the Italian Beef and Ham & Cheese Bites. The sandwiches were perfect replicas of our home town, Chicago favorites! We don't want variation when it come to Italian Beef. Everything should be traditional and CTA delivered exactly what we wanted. Each element of the sandwich is critical; bread, beef, peppers, juice, and seasoning were exactly what we hoped... More

This place was one of the first in the Twin Cities to offer many food staples that you would find in Chicago. Italian beef and Combo are pretty good but the Au jus can be greasy.

We were looking for some "Chicago" food in Minneapolis. We found a decent spot not too far from downtown. We enjoyed the typical Italian beef and a Chicago dog. The sandwiches were very good, and a bargain price. Service was good & friendly. It is worth a repeat visit.

Met Jean at work. She had a "Nuts on Clark" bag in her possession so we began talking about the great food Chicago had to offer. Then she hit me with a bombshell. Her husband Rob was an owner of a place right here in Minneapolis that served authentic Chicago style hot dogs, Italian beef and pizza. I was like... More

While visiting Mpls, saw this place near 42nd St and Hiawata (spell?) so stopped by to grab a bite. Ordered California burger and fries. Burger patty was burnet but rather on cold side - clearly pre-cooked patty and cook (whoever undeserving be called cook) didn't bother to even heat up properly. Fries was oil soaked - pre-cooked frozen ones. Terrible... More

Good, not great. I grew up in Chicago, and am spoiled by Al's #1 and others. But, it is a good sandwich. The beef was thinly sliced, good, and juicy. The bread is very good, and the giardinara is nice and spicy. And i like the outdoor seating in a quiet neighborhood. It's just not Al's #1

We stopped here after visiting Minnehaha Falls and were looking for a casual place nearby and found this via an internet search. It's only about a mile away. We were very pleasantly surprised. It is a very casual place with outdoor seating that serves Chicago style dogs and Italian Beef. We both had the Italian Beef which was very good.... More

If you are craving a Chicago Dog, or Italian Beef head to South MPLS! Can't go wrong here. Similar set up to what you find in this type of establishment in Chicago, and the food hits the spot!

They advertised on Groupon, so I gave them a try last month. I had $15 to spend & ordered chicken wings along with a hot dog & onion rings & a drink. My order of wings were beyond well done, almost un-edible. I should have sent them back, but did not. The hot dog was as one would expect from... More
