I had to walk around the market a bit to find it but when I did....!! Everything looked delicious - the bakers are making things right there in the ovens you can see. I finally decided on the lemon tart, their famous coconut macaroon and a sour cherry, choc chip, oatmeal cookie - ALL delicious! People are right, the macaroon... More

This bakery, located in a small stall inside the Midtown Global Market, has thoughtfully crafted cupcakes and well-executed pastries. Their Surly cupcake, for example, is a dense dark chocolate cake made with Surly Furious IPA; the bitter hops and cocoa are balance just so with honey and sugar. My favorite thing there, though, is the macaroons. They are slightly crunchy... More

We were given a cookie from the Salty Tart as part of a walking food tour at the Farmer's Market (which looked great, by the way). It was a chocolate/sour cherry cookie. Wow. Really good - and I'm not a cherry fan. So, we decided to see if we could go through one day during our trip. They're located in... More

We stopped by Midtown Global Market and visited the Salty Tart bakery. The chocolate croissant and sweet galette were amazing!

If you are anywhere near the Midtown Global Market, get thee to this patisserie! The head baker here came from NYC and her creations are magical! I go mostly for the macaroons, but anything here is amazing. Even if you don't want to eat any of these incredible masterpieces, just to walk by to gaze upon them in wonder.

This place is as close as you can get to Paris in Minnesota. I had a chocolate croissant for breakfast 3 days in a row. Walking distance from Abbott Northwestern. Located in the global market - a fun place to browse.

The Salty Tart sits in the middle of Global Market, a very large indoor market of everything in a fringe area south of downtown Minneapolis. However, the trip was worth the result. We ordered two 6" birthday cakes: one chocolate buttercream with a chocolate mousse filling and one vanilla buttercream with raspberries in the filling. They melted in you mouth.... More

Their pastries are to die for! They are located in the middle of everything, but definitely well worth checking out. We tried their famous coconut macaroons (incredible), tarts & cupcakes. Well worth the calories!
