We both found the 5 courses to be too much food to clean every plate but each dish was so unique and delicious it was hard not to want to try. Pretty pricey but if you value an adventure in unique culinary delights you will...More

I visited Cooks' House on the recommendation of a friend, who suggested I try the tasting menu. That menu on that evening didn't really catch my eye, so I ordered a la carte. The food courses were a little uneven. My appetizer was gemelli pasta...More

We went here for a casual family dinner; me and my husband got the 5 course wine pairing and my two young kids got the chicken salad and the brisket. It was wonderful, the squash creme brûlée was great as was the whitefish. My kids...More

Unfortunately the meal didn't live up to the hype. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't a place I would send people or plan another meal. We were there on what might have been the hottest day of the summer (so far) and found out there's...More

This was our third visit to Cooks' House in the past several years, and our best yet. First advice is it is worth splurging for the seven-course meal to truly appreciate the range of the menu. And it averages out to about $10 per course,...More

As this restaurant was rated high, we looked forward to not only great food but also friendly welcoming service. Well, scored 50%. The experience was dampened by the cold polite wait staff.

Party of eight for daughter's 21st birthday celebration. Waiters didn't hover, just showed up on a timely basis, did what needed to be done, and disappeared, which is hard to do in a place that serves less than 30 people at a time.

Arrived at the door, no greeting, no nothing. 15 minutes in, I stepped in further to finally receive some attention. Lost my reservation... no apologies. Remedy is to stick me in a segregated seat on the porch under the burning sun. I recommend others to...More

We had a late reservation at the Cooks House, but because we arrived into town earlier than expected, we opted to have an earlier dinner at another establishment. Good thing too, because we would not have stayed waiting at the Cooks House as long as...More

We had eaten here last year (2016) and had just a lovely meal with wine pairings. When each dish was delivered it was explained in detail which added to the enjoyment when eating. Service was spot on with not too much but enough to let...More

Probably not, unless they reserved the whole place, it's small.

No. In most restaurants in Traverse City you will see all types of dress. When I am going there, it is usually a special occasion, so I'm dressed up anyway. But there isn't a jacket requirement or anything, and... More
