We heard that this was the in place to go in Traverse city. Strange original menu but great food. Facility is small and dumpy. Needs a little more ambiance. For that price level.

We just loved this restaurant. The wine list was good, with good matches for the dishes served. My appetizer was perhaps the best one I have ever had with smoked Wisconsin chub, topped with scallion pancakes, bok choy, thai basil and a mustard sauce with...More
We tried the Cook’s House based upon a review we had seen. We called the same day and were able to get an early reservation. We ordered the seven course tasting menu with wine pairing. It was an exceptional meal from the chilled tomato soup...More
Cook’s house comes with a highly regarded resume and visits by such luminaries as Alice Waters earlier this fall, so we were expecting the sun, the moon and the stars. However, we did note some less than stellar TripAdvisor reviews. Our experience was enjoyable but...More
Had to walk to the restaurant to get a reservation since the phone was never answered. Had the 5 course tasting menu, but felt the restaurant had been over rated or had an off night. My date's entree was overly salty and she could not...More
This place is so cute! We celebrated our 20th Anniversary here, they greeted us with glasses of Cava. Pasta appetizer was very good. I had the brisket, my husband had the lamb - both were wonderful. From the outside it looks older and small -...More
My husband and I really appreciate unusual menus with unique and creative items- this is the place! Everything we had was amazing! The service was perfect and I cannot wait to go back next time we are in TC.
Visited Sept. 22nd., and were greatly disappointed. We are a "meat and potatoes" community, so "exotoxic" ingredients such as " keef, pigs ears, chimichuri, chicken mushrooms, & kimchi" left us puzzled as to selections. Coupled with a demolition worthy facility?, stifling heat, conversation limiting noise,...More
I visited the Cook's House with my friend last week and had a fantastic meal. We both had the 5 course tasting menu. My friend opted for the wine pairings as well. The dishes were creative and the portions were surprisingly generous for a tasting...More
From start to finish, this place far exceeded my expectations. The menu was simple, yet some of the best flavors I've ever had. Order as many apps as you can, they're all fantastic. The cheese board and smoked chub were my favorites.
