The exterior suggests a family-style restaurant thats probably pretty decent, and the food is better than you'd expect. Breakfasts especially seem to be their specialty. We drive over 30 minutes for their omelettes.

A little overpriced, but super delicious breakfast! I've been here for lunch too, but it was just average. However, if you're looking for a delicious omelet or pancakes, head over to Augie's! And in the summertime, the patio seating overlooking Lake Huron is to die for!

Saw quite a few cars here on a Monday for a late lunch, so decided to try it out. Had a great view, place quite neat. Very good service, opted for perch fish sandwiches. Nothing overly special there, but came with nice warm homemade kettle style chips. Would definitely go again.

WORST food we have ever had, the quality & quantity of food for the price is ridiculous, guess they feel they can rip the tourists off, McDonald's is better than this place. Would give them a negative 10 if I could.

We found Augie's while biking 30 miles on the Tawas trail. Three of us dined outside overlooking the waves on Lake Huron. It was a Friday afternoon and the soup of the day was calm chowder. Homemade clam chowder with generous chunks of clams in a beautiful creamy sauce. Best my wife and I ever had! We had that chowder... More

I know times are tough in northern Michigan, but merchant fees are a cost of doing business but now be expected to pay them if you eat at this establishment. We reversed the charge because on the register is a sign that said get a 3.75% DISCOUNT if you pay cash, well you don't get a discount just the privilege... More

I was charged to use my credit card without my knowledge. Seems to me it's your cost of doing business. Just like I am required to leave a tip because u choose to pay your wait staff less

Went for late breakfast on August 6, 2016. Came right after the morning breakfast rush. Had no idea who our waitress was for a while. Then when the coffee came, the creamer curdled in my husband's coffee, so he couldn't drink it. They had already taken our order (just french toast). Took the waitress forever to come back to refill... More

Our whole family was happy with our lunch, and the fish fry was particularly delicious. We also loved the sweet potato fries and onion rings. Our only regret is that it was our first visit to Augie's and our last day in Tawas.
