A good variety of breads. However the crusts a very tough. You have to struggle to part the crusts. Good service. Usually samples to try.

I have only been there once. However, there was an excellent selection of breads and rolls. The sourdough had a crisp crust and a soft center. It was not a wimpy loaf, either. It had more of a substantial European texture to it. I look forward to trying the other varieties. They vary their selection by the day of the... More

I buy almost all my bread here and have never had any complaints and/or issues. For Thanksgiving, I decided to venture out of my normal purchase and bought a coffee cake. I am sorry but to me, it seemed more and tasted more like a slab of brown sugar, butter, a small teaspoon of flour, a few walnuts and extra... More

The store has been in operation at this location for many years. Our community has very few places where interesting bread can be purchased. This is one of two within a mile of each other. The bread variety is good, and the bakery also sells holiday breads.

The store-front appearance of this bakery is deceiving, as it looks like any old bread store, but if you step inside the smells will tell you about the quality they serve! There are always free samples on the counter of the latest breads or the ones they are featuring that day, as the types of bread rotate. The crusts are... More

Fresh baked. Soft, crispy, rolls, loaves...wheat, white, multigrain, sour dough. Like a European bread shop. First choice when having a soup or dinner party.

I grew up eating French bread baked in New Orleans. It was OK, but the French bread baked at Breadsmith of Okemos is far better. The New Orleans bread was formulated to have a longer shelf life, so it was pretty soft, almost mushy. Breadsmith's version is crisp with just the right amount of salt, the only down side being... A great place to stop in for bread with dinner, a snack, or dessert. The kids love to stop in after school for a treat. As a bonus, they usually have lots of wonderful things to sample. We always pick up a loaf of the French Peasant bread, which is our favorite with soup for dinner and then toast the... More

Stopped in to get some rolls this morning. Their selection is wonderful. Must have been ten different types of rolls were available. Have purchased bread here previously and each and ever time they were great. If you live in the area this is the place to go for rolls ans bread.

Try one of their sour though bread and you will never forget it. They bake all kind of breads and my favorite one is their sour dough. Try that and you will never leave it.
