The restaurant/cafe is set up for all day service with salads and galletes their specialty. We had a small salad each with a 50cl of local red. Both the salads and wine were very good and the service was quick without being pushy. Cost was 30 € for the 2 of us including wine, salads and coffee.

We had dinner there on a very hot afternoon/evening. We were sitting by the main building and we really appreciated the refreshing mist coming on every 10 minutes! Nice touch when it's still 32 degrees outside. Service was average, not really happy. Food was average. We had better crepes in other places. The children didn't even eat theirs. The children's... Should I mention the other customers? I think a restaurant attracts customers like itself so it helps to describe what sort of place it is. Well for starters, the citadel in Blaye is stupendous. Most of the shops/hotels /restaurants within the citadel are very expensive, and Le Bastion is not cheap, but it's a very attractive environment on the street... More

We tried to eat today at lunchtime in auberge des officers but they were fully booked so we popped back to Le Bastion which we had walked past and seemed to have a nice vibe. It took nearly 30 minutes for our order to be taken and almost 30 minutes for our food to be served. The galette I ordered... More

This creperie is at the foot of Vauban's fort in Blaye and is distinguished by the brilliant piece of marketing that is the life-size model of an old man sitting in front of the restaurant. Guaranteed to attract attention, photos and ribald comment! When I asked what time the restaurant opened, the owner performed a brilliant Gallic shrug and said... More

we ate twice here on our short stay in Blaye. The menu is based around Gallettes (crepes). The 'complete' is stuffed with cheese, ham, tomato and an egg and was brilliant. Also good was the cheese, smoked sausage and mustard.

Description
DEPUIS 1985...
