Many other places to get these tamales. I think they freeze them and then thaw them out. The masa is dry for me. Very small amount of stuffing. Not impressed. Prefer la Gloria.

You can. It go wrong with Evies. Phenomenal tamales made from scratch. If you want anything other than chicken or pork you need to call ahead and give them 1 hr notice so they can make them fresh!

We stopped here on our way home from Canada. We were able to sit right away. The waitress greeted us and served us chips and salsa. We ordered fajitas and tamales. (Guacamole too) Food came out pretty quickly, exactly as ordered. Everything was very good. We also brought home a couple dozen tamales and they were enjoyed by the family... More

Went with a group of 13, we called ahead and they saved a table for us. Waitress did not get anything wrong for 13 folks, the salsa and chips kept coming and everyone loved their food. Tamales, soft taco's hard tacos, every kind of meat and to top it off free cookies. Guess how much it cost! 80$ for 13... More

We stopped here for lunch - we're pretty big tamale fans. We had the lunch special and were so impressed by the value - $4 for 2 tamales (choice of 3 fillings), rice and beans. The tamales were so-so...a bit skinnier than we're used to, and a higher meat-to-masa ratio than I would have liked, but generally, for the price,... More

Made a special stop to Evie's to pick up 4 dozen tamales and sauce! Well worth the drive from the burbs. If you're looking for authentic Mexican look no farther. Evie's is the place! 12/$9 freshly made!

We are on our way to the airport today, but sometimes stop here when we go to Eastern Market. Hot, delicious breakfast plates with beans, rice and tortillas, many under $5. $0.99 breakfast burritos also available. Chips and salsas brought to the table upon seating. The place is packed and the air is filled with conversation and wonderful aromas. After... More

Visited at the weekend to taste authentic Mexican food and omg its so cheap!! The food was not to my liking but others in my group loved it and visit regularly so I'm giving it 4* as I dont think I like mexican food personally but I'm told its delicious for Mexican.
