Friendly barman, good menu, delicious food, generous portions which we did not have to wait long for. Provided a welcome rest mid-way for six of us arriving on quite a tough circular walk from Watendlath in February.

We were staying at the attached Scafell Hotel where we ate on the first night, the other two evenings we ate at The Riverside Bar. The menu was pretty extensive and the food is cooked in the same kitchens as the hotel and reasonably priced....More
Back in November, this was the place for good pub food in huge portions, and the price was reasonable. Things turned in December, with higher prices, smaller portions. The menu and food seem to have a pretention but fails to deliver. A pity, really.
