Loved this place! The proprietor was friendly and interesting! The ice cream creamy, cold and delicious, and the old time atmosphere was wonderful! His hours are limited, so stop by when they are open, usually weekend afternoons, but we were there on a Wednesday afternoon!

Nice building and that is it. Not a local favorite. Not real friendly and food mediocre. It is on historic 6A and a nice historic building. The ice cream is not home made and many times the place is not open for business so things are not real fresh. Is you are looking for interesting Cape Cod ice cream parlor... More

The furnishings and small town ambiance seem to be as they were when this place was founded by the proprietors great great grandfather, a pharmacist. We were there for the house made ice cream and it didn't disappoint. We had the rum raisin and coconut cluster... Both were rich and creamy. Most of the other customs seemed to be regulars,... More

We recently purchased a home in town, and stopped by to check this place out. Looks classic from the outside, so we hoped it would become a local "go to" ice cream place for us. On entering, the interior looked shabby and dirty. Limited seating. No one greeted us and the sole server waiting on a table made a bad... More

The 1898 flavor of the store with its small ice cream tables and chairs make the homemade ice cream taste even better! The owner and great-grandson of the founder is there and accessible to all guests. His pictorial history of the family is well worth purchasing. Keep this landmark on your "bucket list".

If you want you kids to know what it was like before the chain restaurants, stop in the Hallet's and have a soft drink and a dish of ice cream the way it was served in the 1950's. Nothing has changed here and that's what makes it great. Even the people working here are fresh-faced kids probably working their first... More

Wonderful old historic building and the inside has been kept beautifully authentic. But -- sorry to say -- the last time I went into Hallet's for an ice cream cone, the woman working there had long stringy hair (NOT tied back or under a hat) and was reaching over into the ice cream freezer with her hair over the ice... This is a Cape Cod institution...located in an old apothecary and hosted by a member of the history Hallet family...it is a must stop on 6A! Don't forget to ask for The Bear. You won't be sorry you asked...

I had the rum raisin ice cream and my husband the strawberry and both were creamy and delicious. The owner was there and it was lovely to talk with him about the history of his shop. We also bought a can of their "famous" clam chowder to take back home with us. A lovely place to stop and delicious homemade... More
