Driven by this place many times and finally went for dinner. Lackluster greeting from host who continued to shuffle menus while we waited, table had a great view of the service area for the wait staff, waitress was nice but odd, just dumped our appetizer plate on the edge of the table and walked off, had to ask for water.... Good food, comfortable seating, nice atmosphere. Service was a bit slow but it was a holiday so I won't hold that against them. Large portions - I will have a 2nd dinner with the leftovers. It was a little expensive but I got 2 dinners out of it.

This place is next to my favorite motel, the Yarmouth Resort, I can walk the path to their door. I must say that this is a total favorite of the older crowd, Most have been coming here for years. They do try hard to build a younger base , Their food is very good and the atmosphere is homey ,... More

Great place with great food. Pricey, but worth it. They have specials during the week that are pretty good. Meals 2/20. Great deal

Very pretty and nice atmosphere and the wait staff is terrific and personable. If you want a special evening don't hesitate to have dinner here. You will be treated well and your stomach will too.

Went there last night. Place was dead seated in what I would call the bar area though there wasn't a bar - staff was hanging out from manager to wait staff. Waitress didn't even bring us the bread. Host then proceeded to rearrange tables around us while we were having our meal. Ended up enclosing us in the corner I... More

Use to be one of our favorite restaurants on the Cape but after this visit it is off our list. My boiled lobster was not cooked fresh". I ordered BOILED. It might have been in a previous life but the legs were completely dry. With nothing to suck on. The tail meat was dry & very chewy. Not freshly boiled... More

Description
The roots to this Cape Cod landmark trace their origins back to the old country and follow a route through Canada before settling in along Route 28. The Yarmouth House Restaurant was founded in 1978 by the Kounadis family patriarch, Gerry Kounadis. Born in Kefalonia, Greece, Gerry immigrated to Canada with his lovely wife, Vasiliki, in 1951. There, he operated a very successful diner in Montreal for over 35 years. His dream was to expand and open another restaurant in the United States. In 1978 he founded The Yarmouth House and he knew he had found a diamond in the rough. He brought with him his three children to help run the restaurant. With hard work and dedication, the restaurant became one of Cape Cod’s favorites, as it remains today. In August 2006, Gerry Kounadis passed away, but his presence is still felt every day in the restaurant. He left behind memories of his great sense of humor, positive attitude, accommodating demeanor and his famous welcoming smile. Today, his son Chris runs the kitchen along with other very talented chefs like Gary Sprague and Amir Ahari. The dining room is run by his son-in-law, Ted Zambelis, and his daughter Angie, who try hard to keep up the family’s goal of remaining a restaurant with the finest food at reasonable prices in an inviting and friendly atmosphere. The family owns and operates DiParma Italian Table on Route 28 in W. Yarmouth as well as our newest location, DiParma Italian Table, Seekonk, MAWe want to take this opportunity to thank all our patrons, especially the many supportive Cape Cod residents who have kept us in business for over 31 years.Thank you and God Bless
