My family & I started out the New Year with an amazing birthday lunch. Our reservations were absolutely perfect! We had a table right beside a comfy cozy fireplace which made our dining experience extra special. There's nothing more extraordinary than celebrating a birthday at a historic country inn. And the Wayside fits the bill! Nice the inn still had... More

Great colonial atmosphere; preserved historical space; great for friends and family visiting. The food is ok; nothing special but the bar setting is fabulous. I've been there for wedding; the food was unremarkable. I like to go there to have drinks with friends after a visit at historical mill and surrounding area.

We recently went to the Wayside Inn for dinner. We hadn't been in quite a while and were very disappointed. The food arrived cold, the fish was dry and we left with the feeling that we would not want to return. A place with this historic significance should perhaps pay better attention.

We always come here on the holidays for dinner and really are never disappointed. Food is very good and the atmosphere can't be beat if you like history and historic buildings. We also come for dinner in the summers as well since we live in Sudbury.

Seven of us had lunch at the Wayside Inn in December 2016. We had not booked but managed to get a table, in the big room at the back; not the cosiest room in the building but perfectly adequate. I ordered the lobster roll, which was good, though it is a bit of a shame that the lobster was all... More

The main dining room at the Wayside Inn was packed on the day of our visit. We had reservations, fortunately. There is a Holiday menu with several choices. We ordered off the regular menu. I had the Nantucket Luncheon. This was a lobster sandwich, clam chowder, and fresh fruit salad. The chowder was thick and creamy, but I didn't taste... More

With friends in a historical group. It was nice to have an excuse to wear my tuxedo, (although you can come in jeans too) Since we were a group with a large reservation we were treated to to a nice talk by the inn keeper. I learned a lot. We also had the fife and drum players come through and... More

Very historical Tavern and Restaurant Food is excellent and not too costly. I go there twice a week for breakfast. Egg omelet with muffin and coffee is $10.15. What a deal and it is great and served hot with english muffin and all the coffee you wish.

We went there for a family holiday lunch. The setting was wonderful; our table was in a small old room with windows and a roaring fireplace, ancient wood flooring, etc. Our waitperson was just great! It was a very enjoyable afternoon. The food was not bad, just average. We have noticed that over the years the food has gone down... More
